Skills That Will Help Me Survive If The Internet Shuts Down

The internet is a game changer. It came with many opportunities. It has lots of entertainments and almost all activities online can serve as a good means to generate revenue.

Before the advent of the internet, people do many things for money. Majorly, farming was the order of the day. My grandfather was one of the people who believed in owning many lands for the purpose of farming. Its nice how easy it currently is to make a living from the comfort of your home.

What if the world lost internet and we can't make money from the comfort of our homes no more? Would we find it difficult to adapt and survive? or would we wallow in misery? Well, in this post, i wrote about a few skills i have that will sustain me if we lost the internet. This is a response to hive learners prompt.

I'm a guy with few skills. Though i hate stressing myself to get money. Before i fully understood the internet and investments, i found myself learning a few skills in other to make a living. I know how to do a whole lot of thing. I am loved by my mentors because when i see something ones, i will immediately learn it. I will do it better than somebody that has been learning it for a year.

When i was a kid, i loved engines. I loved cars, generators, airplanes, ships. Just name it. Coupled with the fact that i wanted to be a mechanical engineer, curiosity drove me into wanting to know more on how these things work.

I always disturb my mother to send me to her friends son that repairs generators so that i will learn. After disturbing her for a long time, she reluctantly agreed, and i began to learn how to fix spoilt generators.

Luckily for me, a shoe maker was close by, so, i always sneak in to learn how to make shoes from the scratch. When the shoe maker realized that i was learning how to make shoes, he began to feel uncomfortable with me around, but i didn't stop going there when i have spare time.

After everything, i ended up learning how to make shoes, and how to repair generators. I made a few shoes for myself, but i had to drop all those skills when i relocated to the east, my village.

When we got to the village, my elder brother began to show interest in tailoring. He started learning from Youtube. Wanting to following in the footsteps of my brother, I also started to learn how to sew clothes. Every now and then, i will steal my elder brothers materials to make a cloth for myself. I didn't completely learn how sew. I can do everything there is to do aside from cutting the material.

During those days, i do get money from making and selling shoes, and also, sewing peoples clothes. I don't sew brand new, i do mostly patches.

Aside all these skills, i have one important skill that i'm very happy to have learnt. That skill is Nursing. Honestly, i never believed that i will ever be a nurse, but then, i became i nurse. lol.

I learnt Show making and Generator repair in 2014 or so. I can't remember the exact year though but it should be around 2013 and 2014. I learnt how to sew in 2017. and lastly, i started nursing in 2019.

The only skill i plan to perfect is Nursing. I may own a cloth brand, or a shoe brand in the future, or i may be importing generators in the country, I don't know, but, one thing i know is that, i only want to perfect my Nursing skills. Maybe get a PhD in Nursing.

Thank you for reading.

You are indeed what we call multi talented. Jack of all of is an understatement lol but I'm curious, is nursing a skill or a profession?
