Does the School You Attend Really Matter?

Just this afternoon, I was discussing with my friend, who visited me at home, life after school, the study activities in school those days, and more. From all our analysis , education is great , and we don't only acquire knowledge in school, but we also have the opportunity to meet people with different exposure about life, and by so doing, we keep learning.

When I was growing up, I usually heard people say that the school you attend determines how much you will succeed in life and I thought only students in big schools could succeed in life but then I grew up to see great people from different educational backgrounds, including those that attended public school, which is assumed that only poor parents take their children to. In other words, if you are associating with poor parents' children, you have no future , so many thought back then.lol

Well, I think the school we attend matters, but not really that much because learning is the same in different universities. For example, the person that studied medicine and surgery in Ph, will end up having the same knowledge with the person that studied saje course in UNN, but then it's a different environment with a different kind of people we will meet. These people we meet also have different exposure in life and obviously , we will learn a different thing from them a schooling in another school.

When I looked back, I can vividly remember that it was only one mark that made me not to study physiotherapy in UNN, so later in life,I found myself in dental school and began my tertiary education journey. Funny enough , I sat down one day to think about the kind of people I would have met in UNN if I had gotten admission over there, but I don't think I have any regret . Where I later found myself , I met great minds from diverse backgrounds whose friendship has shaped me to who I am today . It must be different in another school, but that's just it.

Whether I would have been better off in life with a different environmental exposure or not , I don't know, but I am grateful for the people around me today , just praying daily for a better opportunity and a better place and life continues

If I have the opportunity to go back in time, I wouldn't change my university , it is not necessary.

To me what matters is discovering your purpose in life, ask God to direct your path and remain focused while doing your best.

At the end of the day , the school you attended may matter, but does it define your future ? No, your commitment and more will have the overall say
