Merlin: Your Rescue Is Certain

There are many super hero characters I would have loved familiarised with from Catwoman, to Superman, to Spiderman and the likes but I remember when my bosom friend's dad told a true life story about magic and how it was used for security of lives and property during their days. The story depicted the true nature of Merlin.

I know rescue would come if Merlin is in the picture with his knowledge of magic and mystic powers, what is there that would happen to the boss.

Sleeping under a huge blanket during the untimely harmattan season that erupted in the middle of the year, I could not see myself opening the window of my room for a while week. Sometimes, I slept under a high burning chimney.

Earlier on that particular day, some local hunters have chased a wild cat to my garden. At first, I seemed like an invasion but later I realised it was a chase against a wild cat that have troubled the entire community for decades. It would appear only at night to capture our locally breed fowls.

However, I noticed that some of the guys who came to watch how the hunters spoke to their hunting dogs had used the opportunity to view what my little mansion looked like. The place I call home was specifically designed to give an ambiance of comfort for my immediate family. It was not like the porch homes you have in this millennium billionaires mind but I can tell you that it is beauty to behold.

In one of the rooms stood a fine painted artwork, the original work of one of my students who became the talk of the world few years after he did a painting of me when I clocked forty years old.

Twenty years after I received that beautiful artwork, it was put up for sale and the highest bidder was to get it for twenty million but I declined and returned it home that I would not sell a gift that so precious to me.

Since then, I have received several unwanted strangers who had the intention to rob me of my gift but Merlin had always come to the rescue.

On one occasion when my house was besieged by these criminal elements, they broke in through the kitchen door, had enough time to prepare a meal for themselves knowing that no one was at home to cause them any troubles. While their merriment was ongoing, Merlin appeared and casted a spell that made the sleep till the next morning when thieves were paraded at the chief's palace and later handed over to the law enforcement agents.

When the hunting expedition was not successful as the wild cat out-smarted the hunters and their dogs, everyone returned to their tents. That same night when I was dead in sleep, having lost consciousness, I woke up to the shout of ole! ole!! ole!!!. The thief was caught right at my door post by Merlin's magical powers that made the thief's legs stocked to the door.

The community dwellers came with different kinds to canes and rods to discipline the thief but I disapproved of it. I would rather report th case to the police than to support jungle justice. In as much as I do not support the crime, taking laws into your hands is another crime all together.
