Doing that through social media videos or YouTube has become an opportunity that many refuse to let slip away. But are people starting to go too far, exposing themselves to ridicule or, in some cases, even putting their own lives at risk?

It's common to come across viral videos, and it's a good thing that some of them become viral and genuinely change people's lives. The internet has democratized opportunities, and it's inspiring to see ordinary people, people like us, completely transform their lives. How many talented individuals would have gone unnoticed if the internet didn't exist? That's something truly remarkable when we stop to think about it. But when talent isn't one of the key ingredients, and instead what drives someone is an extreme desire to use social media to climb higher and pursue these opportunities through stupidity, poor judgment, and sheer obsession, the consequences are unlikely to be positive.

I've seen people risk their lives for likes, do outrageous things, eat things I could never have imagined, and put themselves in humiliating situations. The creativity involved in trying to attract attention often borders on insanity. Yes, with a stroke of luck, they may achieve what they're looking for, and fame can bring financial opportunities and completely change their lives. But sometimes people become blinded by that pursuit. Is it really worth sacrificing your health and even your life for that dream? For me, that level of exposure alone would already be crossing the line, but people become so convinced that they forget that some situations are simply not worth putting themselves through.

There's a guy here in Brazil, somewhat from an earlier era of the internet, called Bluezão, who I remember as one of the first people to do truly outrageous things, long before the trend we see today. He did it all in exchange for likes and subscribers on his channel. I've seen him do absurd things, eat disgusting stuff, and put himself through extremely unhealthy situations. Back then, it was seen as a form of entertainment that attracted attention because it was different. Today, that kind of behavior has become almost normal, and because of that, it feels like people are reaching increasingly extreme levels of insanity just to get noticed. It makes me wonder, where exactly are we heading with all of this?

Anyway, I know that most people, let's say ordinary people, would avoid taking those kinds of risks because they understand that some things simply aren't worth it. When you weigh opportunities against risks, chasing virality through this kind of content is nothing more than madness, a kind of madness that offers no guarantees and may lead to nothing at all. I believe that opportunities exist for everyone, and that there are more sensible paths and many different ways to pursue them. Extremes will never be the smartest option. No amount of money in the world is worth it if your life, the most valuable thing you have, is on the line.

Quantas pessoas talentosas passariam despercebidas se a internet não existisse? Isso é algo maravilhoso se pararmos para pensar. Mas quando o talento não é um dos atributos, e sim a vontade extrema de utilizar as redes sociais para ascender e buscar essas oportunidades com ingredientes como burrice, falta de senso e obstinação, as consequências não podem ser das melhores.

Eu já vi pessoas arriscando suas vidas em troca de likes, fazendo loucuras, comendo coisas que nem daria para imaginar, se colocando em situações constrangedoras e etc. A criatividade para buscar algo que chame a atenção das pessoas beira mesmo a insanidade. Sim, com um golpe de sorte elas podem conseguir o que buscam, e a notoriedade pode trazer oportunidades financeiras e mudar suas vidas, mas as pessoas às vezes ficam cegas em busca disso. E será mesmo que vale a pena abrir mão da vida e da saúde por esse sonho? Essa exposição, por si só, para mim já seria algo além dos limites, mas as pessoas estão tão convictas que acabam esquecendo que situações constrangedoras devem ser evitadas.

Tem um cara aqui no Brasil, até um pouco antigo, chamado Bluezão, que talvez eu me lembre como sendo um dos primeiros caras a fazer coisas bem malucas, antes mesmo dessa tendência que temos hoje, tudo isso em troca de likes e inscritos em seu canal. Já vi ele fazendo coisas absurdas, comendo coisas nojentas e passando por situações muito insalubres. Na época, isso acabava sendo um tipo de entretenimento que chamava a atenção por ser diferente. Hoje, acaba sendo algo normal e, por causa disso, parece que as pessoas estão chegando a níveis de insanidade cada vez piores para poder chamar atenção. Então fico pensando, onde vamos chegar com tudo isso?

Mas, enfim, sei que a maioria das pessoas, digamos, comuns, evitaria qualquer risco, pois imaginam que certas coisas não valem a pena e, numa balança entre oportunidades e riscos, buscar a viralização por meio desse tipo de conteúdo é apenas loucura, uma loucura que não oferece garantia alguma, são riscos que podem não trazer frutos. Então, eu acredito que as oportunidades estão aí para todos e que caminhos mais sensatos e diferentes formas podem ser usados. O extremo nunca será uma opção inteligente. Dinheiro nenhum no mundo vale a pena se a sua vida, que é a coisa mais importante que você possui, está em jogo.
