Technology has become an increasingly powerful factor in our society today. Every year, things are developing at a speed that is impressive, and if we are experiencing this now and being impacted by the innovations that are taking place, imagine what things will be like in 2050! Judging by how far we've come so far, both in terms of innovation and social change, we can imagine a future in which technology will be even more present in aspects of everyday life. There's no doubt about it, we're already glimpsing something that the future is preparing.
Looking at current trends, it is undeniable that artificial intelligence will have reached levels of excellence that will make it even more present in our lives, in our work or in any other area we can imagine. I also believe that the concept of the smart city will be one of the great advances for 2050, where cities could operate sustainably with renewable energy systems, autonomous transportation infrastructure, and so on. I think we can already see some of these things happening right in front of us, but until then, there are still many things that will impress us.
I believe that another major trend for the future will be space exploration. Who here can imagine a technological future without something to do with space travel or even the colonization of Mars or the Moon? This advance would change people's view of their existence, encouraging new discoveries, and who knows what else we might find beyond Earth. I think it's impossible to think of a future, even if it's not so distant, without considering this kind of advance!
But when it comes to people's mentality, it certainly wouldn't be the same as it is today, and I don't really know if that would be a good thing or not. Making a quick analogy, if you look back a little, it was noticeable that people were closer and more sociable, and with the passage of time, with the evolution of technology, which many claim brings people closer together, what I see is that they are becoming more and more isolated in their personal worlds. Analyzing this, I believe that the trend is for people to become more and more distant, and for relationships to become more and more virtual. Could it be that by 2050 people will no longer have physical contact? Because, from the looks of it, that's what's going to happen.
It also makes me wonder whether people will be even more superficial than they are today or whether technology will help shape better individuals. It's hard to say. Perhaps, with a little more discernment and knowledge, intellectuality will direct us towards better and more humanized paths than the ones we see today.
I believe I'll be alive until 2050. I'm curious and I'd like to live as long as I can to see all the changes that are to come. Life after the 2000s is fast-paced, and so many things are happening at once that it's sometimes hard to keep up. But one thing I would like to know is what the world will be like in 25 years' time, and there will certainly have been more changes than in the last 100 or even 1,000 years. Quem aqui pode imaginar um futuro tecnológico sem algo relacionado a viagens espaciais ou até mesmo à colonização de Marte ou da Lua? Esse avanço mudaria a visão das pessoas sobre sua existência, incentivando novas descobertas, e sabe-se lá o que mais poderíamos encontrar além da Terra. Acho que é impossível pensar em um futuro, mesmo que não tão distante, sem considerar esse tipo de avanço!
Mas falando sobre a mentalidade das pessoas, com certeza não seria igual à de hoje, e na verdade, não sei se isso seria algo bom ou não. Fazendo uma analogia rápida, se você olhar um pouco para trás, era notável que as pessoas eram mais próximas e sociáveis, e com o passar do tempo, com a evolução da tecnologia, que muitos afirmam aproximar as pessoas, o que vejo é que elas estão ficando cada vez mais isoladas em seus mundos pessoais. Analisando isso, acredito que a tendência é que as pessoas fiquem cada vez mais afastadas, e os relacionamentos, cada vez mais virtuais. Será que em 2050 as pessoas já não terão mais contato físico? Porque, pelo que parece, é isso que vai acontecer.
Isso também me faz pensar se as pessoas serão ainda mais superficiais do que são hoje ou se a tecnologia ajudará a moldar indivíduos melhores. Difícil dizer.
