Is it really that simple?

Well, theoretically, anyone can do whatever they want, and many people do. But doing what you want and exercising your free will may test your ability to do so only once because if that freedom to do whatever you please crosses legal boundaries, corrective measures must be applied. Can you walk around naked in the street? Well, your free will says yes, but the law says otherwise, and you may end up in jail.

Free will exists up to the point where your actions do not negatively impact society. After all, living in a society means respecting rules and living according to the direction provided by the law because, without that, society would become complete chaos. Perhaps we tend to think as individuals and focus on how we should be able to do whatever we want, but would you not feel uncomfortable, or rather highly affected, if everyone around you exercised their free will and lived however they pleased? So, when we look from the inside out, we may feel some frustration about not being able to do whatever we want, but from an external perspective, we appreciate order. And perhaps free will itself really does need limits, right?
