The Life Hack I Mistook For Laziness For Years

I've been saying this a lot recently and I still feel like I haven't said enough about it, I'm choosing to do things differently this year. Even though I'm yet to do many things, which I won't beat myself for but will find the courage to do them, there are a few things I've started doing that has changed a lot about how I see, love and care for myself.

In my search to understand and know myself better, I figured a few things about who I really am and one of them is what I'll share as "One Life Hack" that has been working fine for me. It's interesting how we easily think of some habits as weaknesses until we are actually faced with situations that fold up quickly because of them.

What I mean is, I've always thought that this life hack of mine is just me being weak and lazy, at a time. I still remember how I'd always go on about how lazy I am even when people say I'm far from lazy when they look at all I've done and the simple act of showing up. Now, I've totally evolved from that thought of saying that I'm lazy.

Since I started seeing myself as not lazy, I started to understand what the life hack had always been that could come off as "being lazy" but actually, it has been one hack that is saving me from more things than I am aware of. I remember one time I actually got a negative comment about it from a friend, I felt bad and left behind but not anymore.

My Life Hack is Taking My Time, No Rushing.

At first, that sound so like a lazy girl's life hack but in actual sense, that's me filtering things out by simply taking my time. The world is going so fast that many people don't like those who seem like they are wasting their time, they rush towards everything about life and that's how many also rush to having regrets about wrong decisions.

I tend to take time to understand some things before I take a step, I spend time in doing things because I want it done well, I don't wait for deadline to do things when it's very important for me, I try to do them when I can take my time and do them without pressure. I think it's a hack that has helped me eradicate sources of pressure.

Recently, I've been taking time to understand who I really am and intentionally trying not to copy paste whatever I see people doing, finding my authentic self and living happily everyday in that thought. It's not easy but the simple act of not rushing through things have made life way easier for me than I see people who rush have to face.

Of course, there are many more hacks I've learned and known that are making my life easier but the prompt says just one so I'm choosing to share this one. And it's an hack that affects a lot of aspects of my life which I appreciate a lot. Don't I rush at all? Yes, I still do. I'm human after all, I just learn to remind myself of that one hack.

I used to always fight with my sister for having no sense of urgency but later on I ask myself why the hurry?

We need to take time and enjoy every little detail of everything just as it’s meant to be.
