I've been a lover of good music from the time I began to understand how to read, write and spell words because I come from a family that loves music and singing. From my childhood, I've listened to countless number of songs that have added to my life's values and morals as I don't listen to just any kind of songs with no meaning.
That haven't changed in the many years but sadly, there is now difficulty in finding songs with meaningful lyrics unlike before. Music is a part of our culture, influences our emotions and interferes with how we think or act so it's important we mind the kind of music we listen to or sing along to.
Over the years, music has gone from meaningful, impactful, inspiring and relatable to just beats, danceable and high ranking. It's surprising how these songs with less or no meanings find their ways to the top searches or become so popular among listeners. I can safely say the listeners have changed their music tastes.
I remember songs from old African artists that did not just make parties and gatherings lively, but also helped create awareness of what is happening around us and brought about togetherness among people because of how meaningful they take their time to make lyrics to be before they add the rhymes, melody and beats.
Can Music Make A Comeback?
It will take a lot of changes from the musicians and listeners for music to make a good comeback. The song writers or musicians are at fault here just as much as the listeners who promote meaningless lyrics are also at fault. The most important move I'll suggest for this to happen is revisiting songs sang by old musicians.
I was on YouTube recently and came across an old song that was posted like 15 years ago, the recent comments I read on it showed just how much people have missed the old style of music but they don't seem to know how to bring those days back. If only we could all go back to listening to those old songs over and over, songs of these days would hold no meaning to us.
It would be wrong to say all the songs of these days have less meaningful lyrics as some musicians still impact with their music but mentoring new artists on what good music is for their listeners and make old artists return to the roots of what music was for them could help increase the release of songs with good lyrics.
I also think music industries or the Government or whoever is at the top of approving songs for release or awarding or rewarding songs or making songs go viral aside the listeners, should be made to understand what good music is. This way, not every song that gets to the studio by any artists would be released to the public.
The public needs more education on music, some people listen to music just because others are listening, no preferences or reason for them listening so they tend to promote any song so long it feels good to them at the time of playing the song. Music holds high value, we should not let it lose it.

Except if we go back to the days of the old, the good taste of music cannot come back ever again. The young youths just needed fast money and so dived into the music industry without proper knowledge of how and what music entails.
True, many have turned what music should be into business and care less about it's impact.
Can good music make a turnback? It has gone bad beyond words to mere words. How far have we gone bad in the music industry? I don't know because even gospel musicians don't know what to do anymore🤔 So annoying!
Lol I can tell you are annoyed by it too, we really do not know if music would make a turn back.
It is well
Music can make a comeback. It can return to what it used to be in the past if only everyone is willing to put in the effort to change the current state of the music industry.
But is anyone willing to put in the effort? That we don't know 🥲
I think the viral culture has a lot to do with the wrong things go on top. People just follow trends without giving a single thought to their activities. You know what, things become trending in those cases too where people watch them as to criticize them. !LOLZ
The lyrics of old times still are relatable and meaningful. It is like those songs are still fresh and new

Some trend for the wrong things.
I miss good music, there are still few but very few.
One major problem is the listeners, I think this days we have more listeners who enjoys those kind of music with heavy beats but close to zero or zero meaningful lyrics.
Music is medicine to the soul but the ones out these days are just noise.... As I am typing this comment someone is playing one of those silly songs in my hostel and I can't even understand how he is enjoying such music with loud volume 😣😣
We have good instrument support to enhance the music quality but without good lyrics, I don't think it's effective. So, I think we can consider old music as a benchmark for the upcoming artist.
These days, we dance to only beats, the lyrics are nothing to write home about but then these are songs the populace wants to listen to.
