Hello Hive Learner Community This week’s topic vaccination made me remember Covid Covid-19 Era I’ve never taken the vaccine before. Even during COVID-19 i did not help them take the drugs. Then we keep hearing different stories about COVID-19.
I remember when I heard about the pandemic. Everyone was talking about it on the news, social media, friends, and family. It was not a joke everybody was buying food and staying at home like there was a lockdown Then the vaccines came, and immediately, people started saying all kinds of things. I heard stories like someone saying a spoon could stick to your arm after taking the shot. Another one said the vaccine was just malaria drugs in disguise. Some said it would reduce your chances of having kids in the future, or that it was part of a global population plan. It sounds funny, but back then, I was confused about what this was all about.
For me, what made it worse was that I didn’t fully trust the government. I’m not saying they were lying, but let’s be honest they haven’t always been showing good promise So when they said “The vaccine is completely safe,” I questioned myself to not believe it without question. I was scared. I just didn’t want to take something that could affect me later.
Throughout that whole time, I followed the instructions to stay safe. I stayed careful. I wore my mask, washed my hands often, and avoided crowded places. And guess what? I never caught COVID. That alone made me feel like I was doing something right.
Now, I’m not against vaccines. I know they’ve helped control diseases like chicken pox and others in the past. I respect that. But I also believe people have a right to be unsure or ask questions. It’s your body, and you have to feel safe about what goes into it.
Sometimes, I see people online making fun of those who didn’t take the vaccine. They call them ignorant or careless. That’s unfair. A lot of people, like me, just wanted to stay safe in their way. I didn’t go around telling people not to take it I just chose not to, based on what I felt was right for me.
Looking back, I still don’t regret not taking the shot. I will one day, maybe I won’t. But at least I know I made my choice with clear thinking, not panic.

There were lot of conspiracy surrounding COVID-19 vaccination. The lack of trust for the government also added to people's fear of the vaccine.
