Hello Hive Learners it such a big topic should employess submit their social life handles to employers here is my respond to that topic?
Social media is a part of our personal life and it a part of our privacy at first am still getting to the fact why should employees submit their social media handle to their employers.
To me indulge my personal privacy cause it like am sharing part of my daily life with the organization am working with and no free room for me and my privacy ok let assuming am a married man will the company have to indulge in my marriage life seeing conversations with my wife or children or family members so it bad reason company should seek out social median handle of employees in order to work.
On one hand, employers might argue that social media profiles offer a glimpse into an employee’s character and behavior, potentially protecting the organization’s reputation. Companies may see this as a way to ensure that their staff aligns with the values and image of the organization, particularly in roles where public-facing communication or behavior matters. After all, with the lines between personal and professional life increasingly blurred in the digital age, a single post could affect both an individual’s personal brand and an employer’s reputation.
However, requiring employees to submit their social media handles can also feel like an invasion of privacy. Social media is often a space for self-expression, and demanding access to these platforms could undermine the sense of autonomy and personal space that many employees value. It raises the question of where the boundary lies between an individual’s personal life and their professional responsibilities. Should an employee’s thoughts and opinions shared outside of work hours, even if controversial, impact their job status?
There are so many attachments connected to it who knows you might save your wallet information on social media or been connected to your social media hangout it invasions of privacy.
Before me starting the work we would have gone through an interview and it left for me to decided if i will drop it or not even if it my dream job i cant drop a part of my life to the company i rather quit the company and chase another dream.
The idea of handing over personal information to an employer might be a deal-breaker—particularly if the demand feels unreasonable or invasive. That said, the prospect of a dream job might make some reconsider, questioning if personal sacrifice is worth the professional gain. But is it really worth sacrificing your privacy for a position?
Ultimately, this issue hinges on balance. Employers should respect their employees’ privacy, while employees should be mindful of how their online presence could affect their professional life. There should be clear guidelines and transparency about the use of social media in a professional context. Transparency is key—not just for employers, but for employees, too.
In Conclusion there should be clear guidelines of what Employees must not do at work and do and also a rule and regulations which must not be broken during the time working then a clear example is a bank.

I will not blame the companies for asking for their employees' social media accounts, however, if that influences their decision in keeping the employee, I think there's an issue with that.
Yes exactly my point
