My Last Six Months of Experiences

My last six months have been filled with a blend of excitement, learning, and other engaging activities. I won't say my six months have been all fun and interesting; some days can be boring and uninteresting, but there are experiences I had in each of the months that are worth penning down. Let's delve.

January

SEMINAR PRESENTATION

I was invited by my proprietor to attend a seminar on school management and working ethics at one of the renowned schools in the state. That seminar presentation was one I was happy I attended because of how educational it was.

Learning everything I needed to learn in management and ethics, among so many other relevant topics, has indeed helped my professional life. Attending that presentation connected me with so many learned colleagues in the same profession. The lessons learned from the seminar have been a guiding tool for the smooth running of the school as supposed.

FEBRUARY

FARMING ACTIVITIES

It was at the end of February that the first rainfall occurred, which reminded everyone of the need to nourish the soil. Immediately after the rain wet the soil, my brothers and I decided to involve ourselves again in farm activities. With clear knowledge of how tedious farming activities can be, mostly during the pre-planning stage.

February and March were strenuous months for me because of what is involved in farming. Though it was difficult, knowing we are privileged to have a piece of land to cultivate brings a sense of fulfillment. While the cassava is growing well, we have already harvested our maize, which has made us forget how much right pieces of maize are sold.

April

PICNIC WITH A BIRTHDAY CELEBRANT

Yeah, April was the funniest of them all. My best friend had her birthday on April 23, and it was nothing less than fun. We visited the cinema and had a sit-out in one of the open spaces in town. Having so much to eat and drink with some of her friends and sisters made everything colorful.

We played different sorts of games. One unfortunate part for me was when we chose things we were bad at. Dancing is one activity I'm so bad at, including my friend and some of her friends too. Dancing, not minding if we are dancing to the rhythm of the song or not. The quality of time we spent that day was amazing, and fun.

MAY

CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATION

What lit up my month of May was the 27th of May. From the first day we started to match past rehearsals in my school, it brought back my childhood memories, and all I could do was smile and wish I could go back to those years. Then, on D-Day, which was the 27th, going to the stadium with the pupils was fun-filled.

From the decorations to the different colorful uniforms, the environment was a place to be. Watching them match and display different cultural dances was heartwarming. It was a great day filled with joy for everyone present.

JUNE

WEDDING

Then, for the month of June, I will say it began with being a guest at a friend's wedding. 1st June was interesting because I didn't just see my old friends; we had good moments together. Taking my mind back to the past months, regardless of the economic turmoil and the rapid increase in literally everything in the country, I have had great moments filled with happiness and laughter. Finding happiness in the commonest things is the only way to overcome the worries of life.

Finding happiness in the commonest things is the only way to overcome the worries of life.

True. We need to derive happiness from small things. Waiting for big things to happen is not a good idea. Living in the present and being grateful for it is something that gives us the feeling of fulfilment.

It seems like you have had several moments of joy during last 6 months. I hope your next 6 months will be filled with more joy.

Thanks very much dear friend @amberkashif. You know, we just need to find meaning in literally everything that way we see ourselves naturally living happily.

It feels good to see that you had this much fun-filled time.
I did engage in children's day match pass when I was young and visiting the stadium is one thing I always look forward to.

It's the farming for me.
Harvested the maize? Wow! You guys really planted very early.
Our own(I mean at home) matures late July and I can't wait to travel home to go and feed myself with corn

Hahahah. Farming is now a hobby.

We have harvested the matured ones since we planted immediately the first rain dropped. Don't forget to send some for me when you start enjoying yours in July o.

The first half of the year for you looks really wonderful.
Just to keep you updated, maize is being sold at ridiculous prices in the markets and it's not fair really. 😔

0E-8 BEE

My dear, it is. I overheard a selling saying one cooked maize is sold at 300 and I was shocked. The economy currently is living the majority helpless.

We can only hope and pray for a better future.

It looks like you had a great fun but busy six months, and having any land to farm is really a blessing!
