Personally, I love clean places/spaces, I csnt eat, think, sit, sleep or do anything in a dirty place, at a point people started saying maybe I had OCD, I did my research on that and found out it wasn't... It wasn't even close, people with OCDs are...... Well, I can't really say what caused mine, maybe how I used to mop/sweep the floor countless times a day as a child, maybe because then my mum must not return and meet dirty dishes in the kitchen, or how that my room or the house must nlt be disarranged or maybe it’s just who I’ve grown to be, I can't really say....but I just love clean spaces/surroundings.
So, talking about a environment, I wont be talking about having flowers around or having good interiors and all, to me healthy environment is one where you can breathe in good/fresh air without covering your nose, a place where when you wake, you are not beene greeted by a pile of refuse or scattered books, clothes and all. A place where the gutters are clean, the water is safe for drinking, no water loggings and all.
When they say cleanliness is next to godliness, I do rephrase mine and tell them...Cleanliness is nexr to godliness and close to sanity. Back then, when I sweep our front yard, I do go to the extent of sweeping that of our neighbors too, I do feel..how can here be neat and the next few steps is not, up until now if I visit someone and meet an untidy space, I would just find myself rearranging and picking dirts, if possible I can help sweep or mop, a lot of times people do say you should have been a female, I just laugh, this is just me, can't a male sweep, can't a male do house chores.... You know...
Honestly, we've gotten so used to filthiness that we now see it as normal, what can we really do, maybe just fix and clean our own space, cause all around us we see dirt, plastic bags all around, nylons flying around, the way we pour our dirty waters, the toilets we use, our gutters choked up, our roads are fill with dumps, no trash bin in the streets....well, that's Nigeria for some of us, and it shouldn't be.
So, before we can say a place is healthy then it must help ones sanity, clean water must be available, the air must be fresh/breathable, there should be a level to the noises there, waste management systems must be put in place, there should be good drainage system, also there should be awareness, discipline and a shift/change in mindset.
No matter how clean and all a person is, he/she cannot purify/cleanse the whole society alone, collective action is needed. When we become a community that does not walk over a sachet/nylon, but bend to pick it up, then we are there already, then our environment is safe and healthy.. When we all see it as ours, as our duty.....A healthy environment is peace of mind, is freshness, is sanity, is order, is healing and is good health.

It is normal for most people to be comfortable with filthy environment, it doesn't really irritate them. This is why the society is messy because while those who hate filth tidy up their environment, those who tolerate filth do the opposite.
Exactly... You actually nailed it.
