This is obviously a thought provoking one, at least for me. When we talk about robots and war, for me I felt a little it if relief. The reason is cause, when there's war and our soldiers set out, we aren't sure of who or which of them will return. Parents, children, uncles, aunties, wives and all of them pray for the safe return of their loved ones, if it were robots, it wouldn't be so.

What I'm trying to say is, the usage of robots in fighting our wars and all will reduce the loss of human lives during battles. Also, most of our soldiers today come back home with trauma after losing a colleague at war, some come back home terribly injured and all, we all know that won't be so if it were robots fighting those wars. They obviously have no loved ones, or feelings or anything to worry/think about.
Meanwhile, I thought about the insecurities we are facing in Nigeria while writing this, and I feel that the idea could as well be of great/immense help to us in Nigeria. The kidnappings, banditry and the various stuff we are facing could be curbed by the usage of robots if properly designed to detect, monitor and gather intelligence. If it is well designed to do all of that, it would be very easy to trace these evil doers to their hideouts in the forest where the then minister of defense claims they and their arms couldn't get to.
But then again, robots at the end of the day are designed by humans, meaning they can't be that perfect, what if an issue occurs during war and all of them got hacked and such, what if it was some sort of technical issues that happen and they now wage war against those they are meant to be protecting. What if anything happens, things we often call glitches. How do we handle the aftermath. We can't expect them to be perfect, we the creators(humans)are imperfect too.

So, I feel robots shouldn't replace humans, but both can work hand in hand. If we allow robots to take things up, in the meantime we will be so dependent on them, and that will be an issue, at the end we won't really have anyone to blame or to take responsibilities when things go wrong. Or, are we going to start questioning a robot for being hacked, manipulated or for having technical issues/glitches.
Like I said, both humans and robots could work hand in hand. There shouldn't be a situation where they (robots) have to replace humans. Replacing means controlling, and if that should happen then we will have ourselves to blame for whatever outcome, as it may soon turn into another war between us humans (the creators) and our creations (the robots).
