Hi friends.. How are you doing? Am sure you're good? And your family too? Today, I will be sharing with you facts about loving your neighbors And also distanting yourself from them too. Read on;
In every compound full of tenants, there are different people from different backgrounds. "Not too close not too far, love your neighbor", this statement suggest that when we are relating with our neighbors that there should be a healthy balance. Most times being too close to our neighbor may need to conflict, loss of regard and respect, neglect, lack of care, over familiarity, etc.
Also when we talk about true love it doesn't mean invading into someone's privacy or being over involved in their personal lives, neither does it mean you should ignore them, rather it means showing them kindness, care, support, and respecting their personal space and boundaries. In all, this means that we should just leave peacefully with others (neighbors) around us support them when needed, greet them, respect, help them, and maintain peace and harmony without unnecessary attachment or distance. The Bible further tells us in the book of Proverbs 25:17 saying, " We should seldom set foot in our neighbor's house, so much of you and they will hate you. the Bible also warns us against being selfish, cold, unconcerned and being indifferent about our neighbors."
I have once lived in a general yard where we share same toilet and bathroom. Back then, I had a neighbor whose name is Grace. She was 22 years old. Then, she distant herself alot from people living in the compound and neighborhood. With her character, one can tell that she didn't have any remorse or care for anyone living in the compound. So one early morning, I was dressing up for work as usual, the next thing I heard was Gracie's voice coughing profusely. The cough sounded unusual so I decided to check up on her. On getting to her room, I found out that Grace has taken a lot of pepperish food which was almost choking her.
I rushed and got some water and drugs for her which calmed down the pains she was experiencing at that moment. Although I wasn't too close with Grace, but I helped her out when she was in a devastated situation because I cared and loved her as my neighbor. So in conclusion, we should learn to love and care about people living around us. But we shouldn't over do things, because it will certainly not end well..
