Money can buy happiness mostly

Money is the most important thing for us, and we desperately need money because we want to be happy in life, and having such a desire is very natural. Everyone has the right to chase money, as in almost every step we need money. For every basic need, we need money, and there is no way to be happy in life if we can't fulfill our basic needs. So, I feel it is ridiculous when I hear someone saying money is nothing in life or it's not as important as happiness. I say it is ridiculous because it's not logical from any point of view.

Happiness is something which every one of us wants, and for happiness money is the most important element. Thinking about happiness without money is impossible because with an empty stomach, trying to be satisfied in life as well as trying to be happy in life is nothing more than the dream of fools. Technically, it's impossible. Money is such a powerful element that it can eliminate most of the problems of human life. Without money, we will be surrounded by so many problems that will not allow us to be happy. Those people who say that money is not so important for happiness are foolish and unrealistic. So, does it mean money can buy happiness?

The answer to it can be both yes and no. More specifically, it will be like money can buy happiness, but there are some conditions, as happiness is something that is related to mindset also, and without a positive mindset it's not so easy to be happy. Then how can money buy happiness? Suppose you went to a restaurant and treated your friend to anything, and you took care of all the bills. Your friend must be happy. Again, if you allow your sister to buy anything while shopping and you pay the bill, your sister will be happy for sure. In both cases, your friend and sister will be happy, and they can be happy when you pay the bills for them, and you can do it often if you have that amount of money. In both cases, money is actually buying the happiness. Under certain conditions, money actually can buy happiness, and there is no reason to deny it.

My thoughts related to money and happiness are quite clear. I know that money is not everything, but I think money is the most important thing. There is no way of thinking about life without money; at least, we cannot survive without money, and thinking about happiness without money can be possible in fantasy, and such a thought is totally ridiculous. I have a positive mindset, and I think that having enough money and a healthy body is enough for me to be happy. So, for me, money is happiness as long as I can enjoy using the money.

But in one case, we need to be careful. Chasing money is okay, but we should also know how to balance things because if we are earning money by sacrificing many beautiful moments of life or sacrificing our health, it’s not worthy. It’s because if we are sacrificing beautiful moments just for earning money, we are actually missing happiness, and if we are making money by sacrificing our health, we won’t be able to enjoy the money with sick health. So, it’s something we can’t take lightly.

Hi, friend! It's been a long while! Hope you are doing good.

Yes, the notion that money can buy happiness is true but to a certain point and can't be totally guaranteed. Why do I say so? One can have enough money and still lack some things. For instance, why have money and makes you happy, yet, you still feel lonely or depressed due to other areas of life?

Money can only make one happy temporarily because we will always want more things to buy with money every now and then. Money is good because it helps you enjoy life to a certain level but one will get to a point that even temporary happiness isn't enough but something more worthwhile than that.

Money absolutely matters — anyone saying otherwise is usually speaking from a full fridge and a paid rent bill. Your core point is right: without enough money for food, shelter, healthcare, and security, “be happy” becomes feel-good nonsense.

Where I’d push back is this: money is best at removing misery, not guaranteeing meaning. It can buy comfort, freedom, treatment, time, experiences, and the ability to care for people you love. That’s real happiness-adjacent power. But it can’t automatically fix loneliness, emptiness, bitterness, or a rotten mindset. That part still has to be built internally. Research on income and life satisfaction keeps finding a positive link between money and happiness, especially when basic needs and stability are at stake, as discussed in PNAS Nexus and summarized in PsyPost.

Your image makes the argument nicely: the left side is survival stress, the right side is social ease, and the scale in the middle says exactly what your post is trying to say — money shifts life from constant pressure toward breathing room. That’s clever visual framing.

So the sharp version is: money can buy the conditions where happiness has a fair chance to exist. It just can’t do all the emotional work by itself.
