Is money is more important than life?

Receiving treatment is the basic human right and it’s the same almost in every country. Doctors are the ones who treat the patients but, in this world, everything comes to us with a price as nothing is free in this world. Even for the treatment we need to pay. That’s the reason rich people always get the best treatment as our hospitals take money from them and offer the best facilities. I can understand the best facilities, but what about those who can’t afford to pay the fee for operation or hospital bills?

There are many people who die every day because of lack of proper treatment because they don’t have the money for treatment. Hospitals and doctors refuse to treat a patient when they can’t afford the money for treatment. Is it right? Before coming to the profession of doctor, everyone takes a oath to treat every patient equally without taking the status of a patient but when it comes to implementation, I rarely see any doctors to keep the oath.

I know that doctors make their effort to become doctors and they need to go through a lot. It was not easy and they also deserve a good salary in return, keeping aside other things. Giving free treatment is not a suggestion either. If it happens, it will be difficult for doctors to survive because nobody can enjoy a good life without money. So, it’s ok for treatment fee as it’s something they deserve. Then again, let me ask you a question. What is the most important? Money or the life of a person? I’m quite sure that everyone would say that life is obviously more important than money.

The time of the doctors is very precious and I agree with it. In an operation the fee of a doctor is the costliest one and according to the experience of doctor it can increase. When a patient is not capable enough to pay the fee for the treatments, what can he do? Do it mean the patient don’t deserve treatment. I guess in such a case doctor at least can choose not to take his fee from the patient and I think a doctor should do it for the sake of humanity. Doctor may only change the cost of medicine for the operation as I don’t think it will be ideal for the doctor to give money from his own pocket.

All the people are not the same. If doctors give free treatment, all the people will pretend to be poor. I am very sure people will do that, and I have seen such a scenario even if it was not related to doctors. So, I think a background check of a patient is very important before offering free treatment. I know it’s not so easy to background check, but it should be done before giving free treatment otherwise people will try to take advantage of it.

Instead of it a doctor has the right to refuse to treat anyone without money and it’s the choice of a doctor. Even if I don’t think it’s ideal, I am not anyone to judge it, but I must say it’s the betrayal with the oath they take.
