Does AI restricting creativity !?

Artificial Intelligence, also known as AI, is the most trending/hot topic at the present time, and it’s been trending for the last few years. As time goes by, it’s getting more attention, and it’s not surprising, as it’s hard to ignore. With the help of AI, our tasks have become easier, and its power is something like magic. It’s like we can complete any task in a few seconds, which was supposed to take at least a few hours in the past. Allow me to share some insight related to it from my practical life.

AI is indeed very powerful. In my daily life, I write posts every day, and after writing a post, I always used to check my spelling mistakes and grammatical mistakes, and such a thing would cost me at least 20/25 minutes. But now I have AI, and it can figure out all the errors within a few seconds, and even if I manually check every error, it can take a maximum of 3/4 minutes. And if I don’t check manually, it can be done with a single click. So, at the present time, I don’t even need to understand grammar, and without having any good understanding of grammar, it can be fixed within such a short time. It’s indeed something impressive.

Again, after writing a post, I used to create a picture for using it as a thumbnail. There were many ways to make it, but creating it from Canva was the most common thing for me. It would also take at least 20-25 minutes after I became faster at doing it. In the beginning, it used to take nearly 45+ minutes, and it was time-consuming. But now I have AI, and by just giving a little description about my desired thumbnail picture, it can show me the result within a minute. Can you imagine how much time it is saving for me? I don’t need to make efforts, and additionally, it is saving my most precious time. So, it’s reasonable to use AI, as it saves our efforts and time and makes our life easier and more comfortable. At least I have no reason for denying the use of AI. It’s indeed a very handy tool.

But have you noticed, I stopped using my creativeness for making my post banner or creating thumbnail pictures? In the case of coding, it’s also the same. Now, making a program without knowing any coding language is very natural, and a coder also doesn’t need to be creative for normal coding, as AI can make it for him within a short time, which can save a lot of his efforts. So, he is also not trying to be creative now. The reason is quite simple. Why should we waste our time and efforts in the name of creativity when we can get it easily within a few clicks? Does it mean AI is destroying our creativeness and making us lazy?

I think it’s not like that. It’s us who choose not to be creative and to become lazy. Not adapting to technology is called foolishness, and there is no way for us to avoid AI. But there are still many cases where creativeness is required, and AI still can’t replace us. If we want to be creative, we must focus on it. It’s like in a hot summer, we used to use hand fans in the past, but now we have electric fans and don’t need to waste our efforts on hand fans. In that time, we can choose to do something productive and creative. But if we only choose to stay and relax, it’s our fault for not taking advantage of the saved time and efforts from using electric fans. We can’t blame electric fans for it. Likewise, we can’t blame AI for our laziness. It’s a choice, and if we want to be creative, we still have many ways to be creative. AI never restricts us from being creative.

That’s the real AI win: not “robot replaces human,” but boring friction gets deleted.

Your examples are concrete, which is why the point lands. Saving 20–25 minutes on grammar and another 20–25 minutes on thumbnails isn’t small — that’s easily 40–50 minutes back from a single post. Over a month, that becomes serious time, not just a neat trick.

The smart part is that you’re using AI for acceleration, not as a substitute for your own thinking. That’s the sweet spot. Let AI handle spelling, cleanup, formatting, and image generation; let you handle the ideas, experience, and judgment. Otherwise people end up publishing polished nonsense, which is unfortunately a thriving genre online.

The image works too. The contrast between the slower manual workflow and the AI-assisted side makes your point visually in one shot. Clean choice.

One thing worth adding to strengthen the post: AI saves time, but it still needs supervision. It’s fast, not automatically right. That balance would make your argument sharper and more honest.
