Ban mobile in some family moments

In this digital world, thinking about a life without smartphone seems impossible and I think nobody wants to spend such a life also. In face we are not allowed to think about such a thing, as we need smartphones for various purposes. I know that the advantages of smartphones are indeed so many and it can outshine the disadvantages of it easily, but still there are some concerning issues related to it and we can’t ignore otherwise, we will receive the backlash of it.

Smartphones are very useful to us and almost in ever cases we need to use it. It gives us full access to world even without moving an inch. It removed the distance between the places and helped us to communicate easily with anyone within a few seconds. But it also created distance between the close people, especially the family members. Nowadays, even if all the family members are staying in a room, they don’t communicate with each other as everyone is busy with their phone. Because phone interactions have been decreasing and naturally, the bonding between family members became weak. Many of us blame technology and mobile phones for it but we are the ones who control it.

Some elderly people feel very irritated to see young people busy with smartphones. The first thing I don’t understand is why they feel irritated while youngsters are busy with smartphones. I think it should be their problem as long as they are not disturbing or troubling them. In fact, I think those elderly people don’t deserve to complain about it because they are to blame for it. When those young people were kids, those elderly people gave them smartphones for not to disturb them. Those kids grow up in that way and get obsessed with smartphones and it’s natural for them to use smartphones all day. After those kids growing up those elderly people expect them to leave smartphones which seems ridiculous to me.

Whatever the reason, using the smartphone all the time is quite concerning and leads us to a dead end. It’s not good for health and it’s creating a wall between the family members and naturally I think in some cases a ban can be applied. I think that breakfast, lunch and dinner time is such a time when most of the family members gather. In that time, we have conversation and such a thing can strengthen the bond between us which is getting weaker. Using smartphones in that time can only create distractions and restrain us from a healthy interaction between family members. Unfortunately, many of us have the habit of using smartphone while eating and I also don’t think it’s a good habit. It’s better not to use mobile phones at such a time and it naturally means that I want to put a ban on mobile while all family members eat together.

Another time is family reunion time. I know it is supposed to be a great time, but people are getting busy with smartphones. During the time of reunion after capturing some family pictures together all start to scatter again and become busy with their smartphones. It gives me the feeling like family reunion happens to show off others in the picture in the social media. It may sound funny but it’s the truth. So, I strongly believe that if I put a ban in that time the family reunion can be more enjoyable for sure. People will focus on real interaction in that case, if phone is banned there.
