THE LIFE I CHOOSE BEYOND THE STRUGGLES

In the face of real income and security, I think it will be a lot easier to know what we truly need. Life can be so busy that we easily forget what we need. We are more focused on how to make a living, earn more and be comfortable but it keeps feeling like a long road home. But then, when we have good income and security, we can focus more on the actual things that we need besides money and security.

The essence of life is in the extent of connections we make around us. - Hope Ahama

For this week's Hivelearners topic, we are asked to choose between URBAN OR RURAL. The first thought that came to my mind is what exactly do I really need and think I want? It is easy to think that all we need right now is money and being safe but now that these two things are already available, the next question is what’s next? After pondering about that in my mind for a while, something came to my mind. I love serenity. I love togetherness and simplicity.

I can survive in any situation I find myself but I always crave simplicity. Living my life in the simplest and most beautiful way possible. The urban environment can give me this as long as I get a good location but then, the second part of what I love made me realize that I’ll thrive better in a rural environment. Since I already have the money and security, it’s not bad to share it with those who lack it, don’t you think so? Well, I think so and that’s why for me, it will be a pleasure and a privilege to be in such an environment to share with others who truly need and will appreciate it.

Relocating to a rural area will be my best bet and that’s because relocating to a place doesn’t limit me from exploring other places. Life can be really funny sometimes. One moment you are happy where you are and the next moment you aren’t and that’s totally how it is. I can always take out time to visit urban areas when I feel like it but I’ll prefer to reside in a rural environment. There, I can get all the comfort and peace of mind that I need. I’ll have people that I can relate with unlike in urban areas where I’ll be more selective of those to relate with.

In the end, what I want is my sanity and happiness and I so much believe I’ll find that better in a rural environment than an urban environment because what gives me joy is interaction. The more opportunities I have to interact with people and things genuinely, the happier I am. And for some reason, I believe the rural environment will best provide that for me. And besides, with my wealth, I can even turn that rural environment into a mini urban environment if I deem fit.

Thank you for reading through. 💜
