It Is A Good Thing That Is Not Without It's Challenges

In the last regime the the president came up with the saying "see something, say something". This looked so calling to the public and people began to saying things as they say it. A little time forward the narrative was changed to, "anyone who is caught speaking publicly on hate will be arrested". As the narrative changed the government now focused his energy on making sure that no one speaks against the government.

Truth be told, a lot I mean a lot were swept under the carpet during the last regime. Many things went so wrong in the system and no one had the courage to come publicly and speak up about it for the fear of being arrested.

On countless occasions I have considered speaking up on things that happens around me which is not going correctly, infact as a result of my name I am already a whistle blower. Many times this issue of speaking up have lead me into trouble. There are places I have stayed that I have tried speaking up severally and at times things turn back at me and I have to regret why did I even start speaking at the first place. There is this mindset I have that things should not go wrong around me and that makes me to speak ahead before they eventually do so I won't just end up blaming myself.

For the society to become better tomorrow, this habit is one that everyone in the society should have because the goodness of the society is for everyone and with collective effort we can will be able to achieve the society of our dream place.

There was also cases that someone who came up to report a particular crime that happened in his environment was arrested as a suspect. Since when the security operatives began to turn things upside down people began keeping things to themselves and those that have the mind will venture into jungle justice which is also bad.

Imagine someone reporting of an amount of money that enter her account to the bank, mind you, it was from an unknown source so she felt it was wise to let the institution know about it. Just after she made that report and left the promises of the bank and before she could get home the money was quietly removed without a debit alert message. Now the question is, who withdrew the money, why was she not informed before the withdraw. Now, she is a whistle blower abi, yes she is but many people blamed her for going to report such to the bank. The bankers also knew what and how they removed that fund to an unknown destination because no follow up message was sent.

Let's balance it this way, reporting to the security operatives when something is going wrong or goes wrong in the society is very much important because there are still those who have that good conscience till date. More to date, it is very important we know our rights so that when it is bridged we know how to go about it.
