HOMESCHOOLING VS TRADITIONAL SCHOOLING - MY TAKE

It took me a while to figure out what to writeon this prompt and honestly, I don't think I can completely pick a side and say, "This one is definitely better." Because when you really think about it, raising a child is not just about deciding where they will sit from Monday to Friday to learn, it also has to do with the kind of person you want the child to be.

Growing up, I never really questioned school because School was just part of life.. you woke up early, wore your uniform, carried your school bag, complained about the early morning assembly, sat in class, listened to your teachers, played with your friends during break, came back home and started preparing for the next day... That was normal.

Now, I look at education differently.. I came to the realization that some of the most important lessons a chiĺd learns in school are not actually written on the board...
I learned how to make friends...
I learned how to deal with people I didn't like...
I learned that some people would misunderstand me...
I learned how to speak in front of people...
I learned competition...
I learned teamwork...
I learned what it feels like to fail an exam and still have to show up the next morning like nothing happened... Even with the pain..

Those experiences mattered and that's probably the biggest reason I'm not completely sold on homeschooling because a child can learn mathematics, science, history and every other subject at home, but what happens when they have to interact with 30 completely different personalities?.... The real world is not a classroom where everybody behaves the way you want.
There will be difficult people...
There will be bullies...
There will be people who disagree with you...
There will be people who are smarter than you at something...
There will also be people who need your help...

Children need to experience some of these things while they're growing up..

But then again, traditional schools aren't perfect either hence the argument for homeschooling because a parent knows their child in a way that a teacher with 40 students probably can't..... As a parent You might notice that your child learns faster when they can see things practically instead of reading them from a textbook..
Maybe they're extremely interested in technology...
Maybe they're naturally talented at drawing...
Maybe they love music...
Maybe they are fascinated by business at an age when everyone else is playing games...

At home, you can give them more attention and allow them to explore those interests..
Parents can also become the limitation... because If I control everything my child learns, what happens when I unintentionally teach them only what I believe?..
What if I don't know something?..
What if my understanding of the world is wrong?..
What if I protect them so much that they never get the opportunity to challenge their own ideas?...

That's something I think parents should seriously consider because education isn't supposed to create a child who only knows what their parents know, rather it t should create someone who can eventually think for themselves.

Honestly, I think the best answer might be somewhere in the middle...
If I ever have to make that decision, I'd probably prefer traditional schooling combined with strong education at home...
Let the school teach the academics....
Let my home teach the things that sometimes get forgotten....
Teach the child how money works...
Teach them how to communicate...
Teach them how to cook....
Teach them how to treat people....
Teach them how to lose without becoming bitter....
Teach them how to win without becoming arrogant....
Teach them that being intelligent doesn't mean you know everything...
Teach them to ask questions...
Teach them to apologize....
Teach them to think before following the crowd...

Because truthfully I don't care how good my child's grades are if they grow up unable to function properly in the real world.
