The Bridge Between Knowledge and Confidence: My Journey

When we start our professional life we are immature and over the time we learn the things, we get experience and become expert of that particular work. You can clearly see the difference of amount of confidence we have when we joined the job and after a year of job experience. That is the reason in many technical fields students go though the apprenticeship, which is very good way to get experience before joining a job where you have to do the work form your own. During the apprenticeship we have a mentor which help us to understand, guide us and teach us what we do know know about the job. It's like on job training and it's about building the confidence in yourselves. The lack of knowledge is one week point which is the reason for low confidence also. But it's not true every time. The statement that people feel less confident when the do something first time is applicable to most of the people but not correct for all the people. Some people are fearless and they are bold to do anytime even if its their first time, so its depends particularly on individual also. I also agreed that its difficult for majority of people to be confident without having prior experience.
I still remember a incident shared by my manager during my first job. He assigned me a job which was giving a training to a group of people, and the training was about the software I was working on. It was my first time and obesely I was little hesitant and my manager get it. He called me and asked me to sit when I entered his cabin. He shared a incident which help me increasing my confidence. One of other employees was also gone through the similar situation, he was going to give training to a group of people in a company. Before leaving the office in the afternoon he asked the manager if he can borrow his suit. Manager days yes but also asked the reason - he told that he felt more confident in the suits and that will give a good impression on students if he will go in suit as first impressions is the last impression. This really help me a lot, So the situation and conditions also play a crucial role. Some time confidence comes form others also which give us the strength to do anything. When a team is playing in the ground the audience around them also play a important role on the performance of the team. Think of a situation where the ground is surrounded by the audience which supports the one team only which no doubt the increase the confidence of the team audience is cheering for, and think of the other team, their is no doubt in that they are less confident. Their are some professional where you show your confidence on other, i.e. a doctor, we shows confident even they have out live in their hands.
If I have to say something about me then I am not a special person and I feel more comfortable and confident when I have some experience only. When I gone for a interview I prepared before it but when you have to appear in a interview after some experience then you do not have to think much as the experience matters a lot in such cases. I remember when I appear in the interview for my second job, and the interviewer ask me to generate one 3D model which was very easy form me as I was doing the same every day in my previous job. It took me a minute of time to complete the task and I got selected also. After wards when I joined the job, my senior who was in the interview panel also, told me that the way you finish the job and the confidence you shown was impressive and that was the one reason also that the panel consider me for the job.
