Elders: Our Pillars of Strength and Wisdom

We human give birth and then grow them, this is one of the biggest blessings by almighty as we have the sense and brain, which make us understand the socialization and civilization. The parents give their best to fulfill the desires and the necessity of their kids. When we where just small kids who was their always to feed us whenever we were feeling hungry, to give their hands to support us and help us, teach us many lessons of life. In India culture the kids live with their parents even after their marriage also, this is very common because we consider the elders as blessings. They have tones of experience of life and have tones of knowledge to share with next generations. Parents suppress their desires many time just to fulfill the requirements of their children. I always respect my mother and father for the sacrifice they have given for me and my siblings and they also work so hard to give us good education and upbringing.

I will call it fortunate that I have not seen any of my elder or even any elder form my known in the retirement homes, so to be honest I do not have nay experience what happened their or how's the experience when some one is living inside the old age home or the retirement homes. But one of my nephew living abroad and working in a similar profession. I guess the concept of the old age home or the retirement homes is more popular in the western culture and the European countries. As I mentioned above, in Indian culture the children live with the parents even after their marriage also and in this way the elder also take care and get assistance & support by their children. My grandma is more then 90yral old and I give the credit to my mother who take care of her form the past so many year. Form the first cup of tea to the cup of warm milk before night sleep, along with the lunch and dinner all has been take care by my mother. do you thin such care she will get in the retire home or old age homes? May be she will get all the items on time there also but the their will be lack of emotions always. When we spend so many year in the family we get attached to each other and we create a bond among us. This is the reason we share all our happiness and sorrow with our family members.

The person in the old age home are working professions, no doubt they are trained to handle the people in old age and well know the options to handle the different situations arise when someone handle the old age person. But the missing thing is the emotions and the attachment. They know when and how to feed a old person but they can not understand the feeling they have inside their heart. In the old age the person get the moral and mental support when he lives within their own family members. My mother always says that elders are like lock for the house, they give blessing to us which give good vibes in the family. If parents take care of their children when they were small kids and take it as their responsibility, then why its not responsibility of the children's also to take care of their parents when they need their support.

If I come across a situation to choose the option where one option is is the choice of retire home and second option is to take care of my elders by ourselves in our home then I will go with the option two.
