Beyond the Syllabus: The Lifelong Echo of a Great Teacher

Education system play a very critical role in the prosperity of a nation and the future of people of a country, and it is a fundamental need also. No doubt a higher education play a major role in the development of a country but the basic education which starts for the primary level is also very important as it is the base form where the many ways for a kid started and the type of the education they are getting play a crucial role in their future planning. The higher education is more about the profession we want to peruse, but the primary schooling is more about the basic, social life and ethics. In school the teachers has the main responsibility to pass one all required things we discussed above to the students but in the higher education the students are mature enough to take decision. So the teacher has big responsibility when kids are in primary schools. If you observed than the kids spend a good amount of time in the schools and with teachers and the other students. They learn many things there and after the parents they are very touched with the teachers only in initial days of their grown period. The teacher has a big influence on the students not only when they are in the school but also after the leave the school. Teaching is one of the honorable profession and everyone respect them and this shows how noble and important role they have in the society. Teacher are not just to complete the text book syllabus they have responsibilities more then that. The teach not only influence the students within the school boundaries, they have long term effects on students even after they leave the school. If we go by books the teacher are responsible for completing the syllabus on time and also keep the students in discipline during the school timings but in my eyes their area is more then that.
In India culture in past the students went to Gurukul which is similar to the boarding school but the main difference is that the students participate in the daily routine work also like cleaning, preparing food and other home chores. In such cases the teacher were only on decisions making and governing body. But now in the present days the education system is for making money and their is not any noble case behind it. Its very rare to find teachers which are interested in knowing if the students have an issue in his personal life or in studies, the only they care about is the grade and the parents also has the same desire. In such scenario, where parents only care about the grades, the teachers also do not very professional and only interested in teaching the subjects and the students also take it similar way, the role of a teacher as influencer fade away.
Some teach are so kind and put their extra efforts for the students that the students were remember them for their life time. I still remember one of our such teacher (Rupinder mam) from my school time, how always encourage us for the higher studies. She not only encourage but also gone one step ahead and took some of our classes in English medium even we our school was in Punjabi medium which is our local language. She only guide us and my parents for the higher studies. She do not have any personal agenda the only agenda for her was the our good future. To be honest that her efforts that me and my brother are in good position.
The education system has changed a lot in recent days and in similar way the Teacher and students also changed, all are more materialistic and professional in their field. No one has spare time to think of other peoples and no one want the interference of others in their life. So in ideal situation the roe of the teachers should not limited within the boundaries of the school but the modern way of life is demanding something opposite to same.
