I am not hundred percent good, but the funny thing about knowing some things about electricity and how to fix something things is how people assume for fast that you must know how to fix everything at home. But, I don't know how to fix everything. But when some things that I can fix like the generator stops working, one socket is faulty or a light refuse to come on or the general switch needs some maintenance, what usually comes to my mind is to check it first before calling anyone.
In my house, any small electrical or electricity job, I handle it. From changing of the bulb, fix some loose connection when I know it is safe and something I can do, and troubleshoot some handy faults. And when It also comes to minor repairs, I enjoy doing those. There is a special type of satisfaction when something stops working and I gets to fix it instead of rushing to call some experts to come check it out.
Most times, it can be so vexing when something like as small a walk socket interrupts my plan. Sometimes, I stand there checking the switch out and pressing it over and over if it will come on, but it won't. But recently, I am more likely to check the obvious things first.

Of course, just knowing a tiny part can make anyone looks overconfident sometimes. It has happened to me before. But not all fault looks so simple as it seems and putting my hands in electricity is not just something I put my hand or guess through it always. And if it is something I cannot handle, I will call an expert in the field than to put my hand into something more dangerous or complicated than risk my life over it or turn it into something big.
The good part of it is that doing most of these things that I can handle myself saves me a lot of money, but that is not the only reason why I put my hand in it. Doing these little little things myself has made me to figure my way around some things at home, things I mostly depend on. When I fix something at home myself no matter the stress and how long it took me to get it done, I feel a type of inner satisfaction.
Will I stop doing it? No, as far as I am able to. Will I continue to do it myself? Definitely, when I can. But what I have realized is that because I can fix it does not mean I am refusing help. Most times I become smart when the job is beyond me, and I give it out to someone with more experience and expertise than myself because what i have realized over the years is that I might quite be good at some things, but it never hurts to source for the hand and help of a professional in that field just to ease up the stress.
