One significant change we have been opportune to witness in today's world is easy to access to information, just at the tip of our fingertips, with the help of our smart devices connected to the internet any information can be gotten at any time to any age as long as there aren't any restrictions whatsoever,
it won't be an overstatement to refer to this generation as a lucky one because before now, access to even the slightest of information was a herculean task, there was a time our ancestors passed information around through the help of a single person called the town crier, imagine one man going door to door, streets to streets just to pass across a piece of information from the ruling authority, and even the more advanced time where libraries were already built and running, it took students of that era probably walking long miles to the library, and when they eventually do, they literally have to scan through lots of books written by different authors to have much more understanding of an information or research.
Like I always say, to every good thing there is probably a bad side or disadvantage, which brings us to the question of whether having cheap access to knowledge necessarily makes us more knowledgeable, intelligent, or smarter than our predecessors. In my opinion, I think we are indeed smarter or intelligent in whatever way we put it because comparing a vocation, fashion design for instance which I'm more knowledgeable about, now and then, I've heard my mum tell me tales of how she had to spend years in training to know just the basics of sewing and they didn't upgrade beyond that knowledge because it was limited to them, for me, when I developed an interest in fashion design, do you know that my first classes were gotten from youtube, and even till date, design of styles all over the world are easily accessible through the help of my phone, which aided my fast growth in the fashion niche, and it's the same as every other niche.
Not ignoring the most likely disadvantage of this easy access to cheap information, which is taking for granted what we are opportune to have and becoming lazy, especially among the students and younger generation. I happen to go to a school where assessment is usually sent digitally to students, rather than reading the course material provided, most of them use the lazy way out, using AI to get their assignment done and get an easy 30% mark, but the problem comes when it's exam time since examinations are usually supervised and no phones allowed.
If only we don't take for granted the opportunity we have now, and still devote more time to reading efficiently and not just use an easy pass Ai, also there are fewer restrictions, sometimes I go on some of my feeds and regret why I did that, imagine children who have no restrictions on their devices witnessing same every day, it is a sure thing that their mind gets corrupted easily at an early stage, which often leads to impulse acting and lifelong traumas
We should know that while easy and cheap access to knowledge has improved how we learn and access information, it does not automatically make us more intelligent, the true intelligence comes in how we filter useful information and also by practicing them, either to develop our skills, just like I did with the fashion design knowledge I got online, only then can we be the wiser generation,
A very insightful answer to a rather mind blowing question
Exactly, thanks Drey

It is true that when we get things without hard work, we don't appreciate them and we start to think that life is much easier, but it is better that things are benefiting us at the moment. We should also think that we should work hard day and night and take advantage of them because now we don't have to travel long distances to buy books, YouTube and Google are solving all our problems.
