Who would have thought that in my 30's I would be excited and looking forward to starting programming/coding classes haha, that's life for you. But you sew, a fashion designer yea, right, who said we only get to choose one path and boom! We've got everything figured out?

In my few decades on earth, one thing I've had to learn constantly is that change and growth are constant, funny how we live in a world where certain societal pressures though invisible but very heavy are placed on us, and some of us even had it mapped in our heads, finish secondary school at age 15, graduate from the university maybe at age 20-22, depending on your course of study and for most of us females, find our prince charming and get married at 25, lol.
For a few of us, maybe it worked out, but for others like myself, we realized that there is so much more life has to offer and our lives don't have to fit society's standards. Why give yourself pressure and study what you are not interested in because you just want to fit, yes, I was a victim of that, thankfully, I became more aware of myself as I got older and pursued my passions, yeah, not 1.
As my Pastor would always say, salvation is personal, in other words, you don't have to bend your life to others standards. Life is already tough, why make it tougher living your life to please others but yourself? Life is short, do what makes you feel fulfilled and happy as long as you are not hurting anyone.
Waking up to see a new day means life has given you another chance to start again, get better and keep moving. Don't let pressures from family, friends etc push you into doing something you end up spending your later years regretting.
I was speaking to an old friend recently, we went to same secondary school and she is older than me with about 2 years, even though she has accomplished a lot for her self at that age, yet she keeps getting pressure from her mum to settle down with a man so she can give her grandchildren. Like? is that even enough reason to just settle down with anyone, marriage is a good thing no doubt, when two mature and responsible adults meet and decide to spend forever with each other.
You see, I left the love/lust part out, because marriage is not about love and bearing children alone. If it were, we wouldn't be seeing lots of divorce cases daily.
After my talk with her, I was glad she felt better and happier having that talk with me, we are supportive and happy for each other at our different levels of life, even though we grew up as childhood friends, no hate, no competition, and especially no pressure and that is how we must live as human beings: respect people's choices, maybe the world would be better place.
It's even more fulfilling to figure ourselves out each passing day; that's how real growth isachievede

It's just so sad how the society has placed our success or desires on some conditions. Age range, gender and the likes but it's always the best when we are not allowed to be weighed down by those standards but work on ours and at the time we realize we want to do it
We make our plans, and life just keeps feeding us whatever it has for us.
For a fact, just because some things didn't work out as we hoped they would does not mean we have failed; no one is allowed to pressure us, really, to do something we are not ready for. In the end, we are the ones left with the regrets while they live their own lives.
