To be sincere, I never liked the idea of homework as a student while growing up, I mean, why would we spend 9 active hours in school only to be burdened with more work to take home, when do we have enough time to rest and play?
This made me to most times quickly get them done in school especially if it pertained to a topic that was recently taught, still, I never had issues with not doing my homework as some of my peers did, but there was homework that we had no choice but to take home and meet our parent or guardian for help, coming from a home where my mum or dad hardly eleven had the time as they usually were busy with their various jobs trying to provide our needs, I was left to sort out myself and somehow I still managed.
As a parent now, I understand better and would be on the side of students to be homework because of what I didn't see that I lacked then, luckily for me, I was the smart kid who could survive academically on my own, but what if I wasn't how would my parent know if I doing fine academically and if the money they were working to sort my needs and academics were yielding positive results.
Though I understand how tiring it gets being exhausted from the day's job and all you want to do is rest after sorting their meals, not them bringing homework which you pay h amounts to their school to have their teacher teach them, it gets even more annoying when the homework seems strange to the child as if they were never taught then you start doing the supposed with of the teacher.
Homework is supposed to be an extended lesson of what they were taught in school, especially for pupils, and not some new topics, that is why pay for them to be taught, what we parents can do is assist and it makes us feel good when they pick up from little guidance and not doing the teachers job.
As I mentioned before, homework also helps build a connection between parents and their children, my daughters for instance usually take homework time to tell me how their day went in school, and when certain things seem off I know how to ask their teachers questions, also it is a plus when a parent shows concern and applauds their children when they do well with their studies as it encourages them to get better and also encourages them when they are not really doing fine, but makes the teacher's work easier and becomes a win-win situation for everyone, a proud parent, easy work for the teacher and improved/ better grade for the child.
The reason behind homework given to pupils or students stays valid and shouldn't be scraped, it will only raise the numbers of lazy students and nonchalant parents if taken out of the school's curriculum.
So far, giving homework has so many advantages than not giving . Although it can be tiring sometimes, but it's really worth it for the kids
Yeah it's worth it since its benefits outweigh its disadvantage
Home work encompasses a mere academic exercise. It helps the school child in many ways.

Homework help slot academically, but the number of it and how much time you get to spend before finishing them is what is bad. 7 to 9 hours in school only to get home to continue till almost midnight? Nah.
It can be moderated, lesser homework and maybe 3 times per week is enough.
Not overburdening them with lots of homework is a good point.
