Christmas is one of the most beautiful times of the year. We get to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas is not just about celebrating the birth of Jesus but it is also a time to show love to one another, get together of family and celebrating with one another.
What do you love about Christmas

Oh! I remember when I was a little girl, every time Christmas is approaching I feel extremely happy and joyful.
why?
Firstly, the new clothes and shoes.
Oh! The joy of wearing new things on Christmas as a child is so great. Those days, if our parents were yet to buy our cloth, we keep on pestering them about the clothes and how everyone will be wearing new clothes. Children, such lovely creatures.
One of the best Christmas I ever had was when I was seven years old. Because my immediate sister and I were very young, there is about an age gap of more than ten years between my elder siblings and us, so the issue of new clothes on Christmas was not extended to them just as tiny kids. A month before Christmas, my mom had a heart-to-heart talk with us. She said things were quite hard and we would not be getting new clothes and shoes that Christmas. I could still remember that day, my sister and I were sad, but we understood as little as we were and told her that it was ok. But it wasn't really ok because we did cry that we were not getting new clothes that Christmas. On Christmas day, we already made up our minds to wear our normal Sunday wear, then my mom called us into her room and brought out two beautiful gowns, I was over the moon. It was the most beautiful gown I ever saw, apparently, she later got to some money and bought the clothes but to surprise us, she didn't say anything. It was the most beautiful surprise I ever had, and I was smiling throughout the day not because of the food but because of the cloth.
Secondly, family.
One thing that Christmas does is that it brings people and families together. When my maternal grandmother was still alive, we go to the village to celebrate Christmas and meet my cousins, aunties and uncles. I always have a lot of fun with my cousin.
Thirdly, food.
Yummy, yummy yummy ๐๐๐. Christmas food is always special. I get to eat lots of food. One thing I enjoy most about the food aspect is being the one to run the errands of taking food to people. In my community, there is a culture that during the festival periods whenever little children take food to a particular home, the elders in the homes give the child money. I love this part the most and we always fought over who will take food to the neighbours, such lovely memories.
Am older now, I don't care about new clothes and shoes on Christmas day and food errand is no longer suitable for me. Now, delicious delicacies on Christmas day and family is what I love and look forward to every year
How far, are you still pushing for new clothes as an adult? Lol๐. The question sounds funny but I have a lot grown up ladies that have bought Christmas clothes already via billings from BF ๐.

Kids and new clothes on Christmas day cannot be separated. If you try it, those kids might get sick, so you must avoid the problem
Nice content #popped in from dreemport
Honestly, my nieces and nephews, this Christmas were shouting for new clothes. They even went as far as dictating the type of clothes they want, children and new clothes ๐๐.

This post is nostalgic. A summation of my childhood memories. For me it was Eid and this was exactly the thing I looked forward to.
I felt the disappointment and also the joy you received after getting your clothes. Awwn!
Eeh that money part. Hmmh but it always ended up in my mum's pocket. โBring it let me keep it for youโ. Hehe.
I love Eid, I always look forward to the meat...
Honestly, I can relate with this. Keep will later turn to "do you know how much I bought you clothes and shoes" ๐๐. God bless our mothers

The food part is definitely something to look forward to, the special delicacies cooked at home and the ones shared by the neighbors.
