Stress can be draining both physically and psychologically in the face of a demanding situation. It triggers the fight or flight response that sometimes helps one perform better to handle a situation.

My major cause of stress currently is my terrible time management. I somehow prefer to do things as they come, like without making a schedule and timing each activity and this sometimes makes me do one thing throughout the day neglecting the other. I am not a regular university student as I am done with my degree but I am a student in the sense that I am learning a new digital skill and taking online courses. so i have a task to complete, there are sometimes multiple materials to read and focusing only on one is missing out on the other.
Like every other person learning something either in the university or a foundation, there are projects to complete and i noticed i am in the category of deadliners I am not sure that's an actual word but it describes someone who waits until the last possible minute to finish an assignment and doing this causes undue pressure because there could be multiple tasks to be completed. I remember the first time i started with my current foundation and we were given more than one material to study and assignments to complete within the week, i did not time myself properly and lazied around doing other things so when it was close to the deadline, i lost sleep trying to read them all and complete the assignment it was really stressful to do under that short amount of time.
To deal with this and put my stress levels in check I have decided to follow these simple rules that are tested and trusted and you can follow them too.
Scheduling (Time Management) : Doing things as they come is great and all but to be able to complete different tasks more effectively i have decided to put things in schedule and follow through in that pattern it helps me do multiple things that are necessary in developing my career and self.
❌ Deadliners: Doing each assignment and task when given really helps in eliminating pressure and stress as i do not let them pile up anymore. I am getting rid of the deadliner spirit.
Also, getting rest in between different activities is great for reducing stress, it helps me recharge and keeps me centered on my plans. Talking to friends, watching a movie or exercising helps me destress and keeps me refreshed.
I do not think i would be able to cut off stress entirely cause i think it's just part of being an adult human in Nigeria but i have been able and still trying to reduce it so it doesn't get to the levels of frustration that can lead to a breakdown. Taking a deep breath and exhaling.
I would like to know about the methods you use to reduce stress so please drop a comment I would be reading to get new insights.
Deadliner. I liked the term. Hehe. I am also the one. I think it comes from a certain fear of initiating the work and so we wait for the last moments to start our work. And when we begin it, stress is sure to come.
A healthy amount of stress is important to make us move and let us do the work on time. However, the stress beyond that limit is not good for well-being.
I agree to the point that time management helps to reduce stress that comes from mismanagement of the time

Stress almost seems inevitable until we have several pillars stationed (like time management) to ensure we get a grip of ourselves and deliver optimally.
Fear of the unknown in trying out new things is one of my main triggers to procrastinate and the exhilirating feel to meet a deadline might have it's adrenaline and drive but maybe not worth the stress in the long run.
For me, I workout to keep fit, I practice doing some jobs in a haste especially mine then I set an earlier deadline from the clients and work towards it which eliminates disappointments yet keeping the rush I most times need to push forward.

This is great, setting your own deadline.
Doing Things as they come is really the best option to have things done without having to put ourselves in hot seat later . Procrastination is a very deadly habit that can result in a lot of stress and confusion
Procrastinating really is a killer. Thanks for reading.

Taking breaks in between different activities helps in reducing stress. I am also guilty of leaving some things till the last minute and I have been working on it so it won't affect me. Thank you for sharing.

Adult in Nigeria? Even the kids in Nigeria go through so much stress, hehe.
recently, i realized that working under pressure makes me hit the peak of "stress-hood". Stress could make a person have a mental breakdown and stress management is key. I like that you have come up with ways that could work for you.
I came in from #dreemport. #dreemerforlife✨
Really everyone in this country is collecting. Yea we just have to manage the stress so it does not affect us so much. Thank you for reading 🤗

when I read present foundation... are you doing ALX?
Nope, I did join cohort 13 but it was really fast paced and I did not know much C then. I am into cyber security now with CyberSafe Foundation.
I was part of ALX cohort 9 but did not finish because I was in a lot of programs and balancing everything was an issue for me.

I think i need to improve on my time management. I have a ux/ui class but only holds on saturday and i have got assignment to do.
I have got a job and it not too stressful but sometimes there are so much task on the table to do and i have also got to write.
sometimes i just let go until die minute to finish up on time
#dreemport
It’s good to do each task on time so as not to pile up and cause pressure.
i will work better on it
I think I'm a lot like you with the deadline bit. I just love doing things at the last minute but it puts me under so much pressure, I just know it's not worth it. But I'm glad you're gaining steps in eliminating the habit. I hope I do too. Hehe.
😁I hope you find a way to get rid of the deadliner thing too.
Good things to remember!
