Faceless Identity: Anonymity in the Digital Space

In a world where many people like to flash their faces and identity on the camera, making one post or the other, with many out there even using their faces alongside their skills or talents to make money, to become famous and celebrities, some would rather keep their faces and identities away from the digital space. They just want to be there in these spaces; social media or otherwise, for whatever reason, yet not known for who they really are. These individuals prefer to be anonymous.

I mean, I try to understand why someone wants that? When many are chasing fame and global recognition, why would some want anonymity? It kind of feels weird, I might say. Well, they have their choices. It might be best for what they want or intend, or much more for safety and privacy's sake. People have experienced a lot of backlash for things that carried their faces online. Perhaps, these people are trying to avoid the likes of such experiences. And for someone who would value privacy all around, it's a close call to make.

Beyond all that, the big question is, is it possible to stay anonymous in the media space in this digital age? This calls for a lot of consideration. Not to be quick to give a yes or no reply. I'm looking at the possibility and how much some individuals have gone in this effort of staying anonymous that makes it still effective today. But then, I'm also looking at how advanced the digital age we're in has gone, and how many hidden details it can help reveal. This makes me question absolute anonymity.

I won't override the fact of maintaining anonymity online. Bloggers and some media personalities have done it and are doing it. Some, even to the point of using digital, technological means to distort their voices if the activity necessitates them talking. While on masks as well if it demands an appearance. This goes to show how much such people are willing to go to keep their identity anonymous. The funny thing is the same digital advancements provide them the tools to ensure this is possible.

However, there could be a loophole and just the means that can expose them, in some way. There's something called cookies on site. Our phones and devices also have IP (Internet Protocol) addresses. The cookies share our data with the sites and third parties that it might require, which could be contained in their privacy policies or by your agreement to use cookies-which is mandatory for some sites. The IP address allows for tracking of one's phone and their real-time location. These make me consider the possibility.

However, there's a twist to these things I'm also evaluating. What if these individuals have an identity, but not the one that people would be curious about? They could be anonymous on an account but their very selves on another account. Perhaps, this anonymity could be for a specific account and purpose, not the entire thing. And looking into the fact that the current technological, digital advancements could expose such identities, even more, such people could also march these advancements with a counter defence system in their anonymous world. Yeah.

In my opinion, people behind the mask would only remain there for as long as they do not over step their boundaries because the moment they do, no amount of counter defensive system would save them from being unmasked and caught.

Yes. I guess that's worthy of mention.
