Counted the Cost

I tend to consider that, do we work to gain money only to spend some or most of it on buying stuff? And if not to buy stuff, what else could the money be used for? There could be other things the money could go into which might not connect to direct spending, yet somehow, it will be spent on stuff. Someone I know will say, “What's the use of the money if not to spend it?” The big deal however is that this spending can sometimes be quite expensive.

Expensive or not in this case is the function of how much financial capacity one possesses. For someone, buying a car; a simple, small car could be an expensive venture he or she is putting their money into it. For another person, it's just them spending money on one of their “toys.” This is to say that the expensive nature of a thing results from the financial capacity of the purchaser. Nevertheless, there are things we know that are expensive. Whatever financial capacity doesn't erase that.

Okay, I'm not trying to make a financial lecture. I'll need one myself. Chuckles. Going back and looking at last year; a tough year as widely expressed many especially in my part of the world, I made some purchases that would count as some of my major spending. One strikes me though as the most expensive, and that was when I decided to get a new phone, alongside some other gadgets. Perhaps, in a nutshell, I'll say gadgets, but the phone counts more to place the spotlight on due to the need and demand I had for it and the necessity to spend on it almost instantaneously.

It might not be much of a purchase or a major purchase to be considered by many, but to me, it's something to consider. We all have our financial capacities, and my efforts towards finance then weren't going to see me or let me spend aimlessly. This came as a necessity and almost abruptly, I had to consider and make the purchase. Like I said, it wasn't about the phone alone, there were other gadgets that followed as a part of that necessity. Was the spending worth it? You're very right if you think it did.

Spending on the phone and gadgets was a worthwhile one. As mentioned, it was a necessity and that necessary spending paid off. I was able to get back on track to some of my digital skills and grew in online engagement, building myself, growing and gaining more knowledge concerning the things I needed to with much efficiency. One major way this spending was instrumental was providing me monetary gain. I was able to employ my skill and get paid for the service offered.

Time is said to be of the essence. I tend to wonder if left till when it was seemingly comfortable to make the purchase before I did, the worth that had come thus far would have been far away still. Would I spend on such again? I will. I mean, I'm already hoping to get more and better gadgets alongside the phone as well. Counting the cost and envisioning the gain, it's a necessity for me, though an expensive purchase that would be. As one who is digitally inclined, I see it that way.
