Today’s society has highlighted several situations that seem unfair and have been inherited from previous social relations and structures. One of them is gender equality, which assumes there is an inequality between men and women in social relations, in the broad sense of the expression.
But does inequality between men and women really exist?
This question is essential because from the moment we answer no, our subject disappears, and it makes no sense to discuss anything. Let’s investigate further.
1. Domestic work
Nothing better than observing whether household chores are carried out jointly by the couple or divided proportionally. Here, within the family unit, we likely find the first situation where a woman experiences the disadvantage of having been born female. Traditionally, and still today, it has been up to women to perform household chores, while husbands were responsible for subsistence or work outside the home.
It seems we have a lot to work on in this area!
2. Sports
The Olympics are here, and we see a big disparity between men’s and women’s sports—not in the results, but in representation—where for several events we have only men’s competitions. You might think it’s due to lack of interest, but I question whether you really believe there are equal opportunities for both genders. Consider sponsorship, for example. Even football, the national passion here in Brazil, is underdeveloped when we think about the women’s category.
3. Armed forces
It is recent (this year, 2025) that Brazil began to accept female recruitment (optional) for military service. In other words, even if a woman wanted to, she could not serve in the army.
That’s a historical fact.
4. Public safety
A sector dominated by men. For comparison, even when a female officer is needed (for a strip search, for example), there is little or no availability. The sector is truly male-dominated. Could it be due to lack of interest?
5. Salaries
Research indicates that men’s salaries are higher than women’s salaries for the same position, which may definitively reveal that we live in a world that restricts women’s access to opportunities and rewards, favoring male structures.
Conclusion
Advances in organizing society to overcome structures of oppression against women are still timid and have much room to grow. While writing this article, I found myself thinking about female representation here on the blockchain, and I believe that if someone could conduct research to identify these numbers, it would be very welcome to find out whether, here in the digital world, we also reflect society, where the male presence is predominant.

A sociedade atual tem colocado em destaque várias situações que parecem injustas e que foram herdadas das relações sociais e da estrutura social imediatamente anterior. Uma delas é a igualdade de gênero, que pressupõe que existe uma desigualdade entre os gêneros masculino e feminino nas relações sociais, no sentido amplo da expressão.
Mas será que existe mesmo alguma desigualdade entre os gêneros masculino e feminino?
Essa pergunta é essencial pois a partir do momento que respondemos que não então o nosso objeto desaparece e não faz sentido discutir nada. Vamos investigar melhor.
1. Trabalho doméstico
Nada melhor do que observar se as tarefas domésticas são realizadas em conjunto pelo casal, ou divididas de forma proporcional. Aqui, dentro do seio familiar, encontramos a provável primeira situação de onde a mulher experimenta a desvantagem de ter nascido mulher. Pois tradicionalmente coube e ainda cabe à mulher realizar as atividades domésticas da casa, sendo que os maridos eram responsáveis pela subsistência ou o trabalho externo.
Parece que temos muito a fazer nesse ponto!
2. Esporte
As olimpíadas estão ai e vemos uma grande disparidade nos esportes masculinos e femininos, não pelo resultado, mas pela representatividade, onde para vários deles temos apenas a competição masculina. Pode pensar que seja por falta de interesse, mas eu questiono se você realmente acredita que existem oportunidades iguais para ambos os sexos, suponha uma questão de patrocínio por exemplo. Mesmo o futebol, paixão nacional aqui no Brasil, é subdesenvolvido quando pensamos na modalidade feminina.
3. Forças armadas
É recente (deste ano de 2025) que o Brasil passou a aceitar o recrutamento feminino (opcional) para o serviço militar. Ou seja, mesmo que quisesse a mulher não poderia servir ao exército.
Isso é fato histórico.
4. Segurança pública
Setor dominado pelos masculinos. Para fins de comparação, mesmo quando é preciso uma agente mulher (para uma revista íntima por exemplo) temos pouca ou nenhuma disponibilidade. O setor é realmente dominado pelo masculino. Seria falta de interesse?
5. Salários
Pesquisas indicam que o salário pago ao masculino é superior ao salário pago para uma mulher ocupante do mesmo cargo, o que pode escancarar de forma definitiva que vivemos em um mundo que restringe oportunidades de acesso e recompensa para mulheres, favorecendo a estrutura masculina.
Conclusão
Os avanços na organização da sociedade em torno da superação de estruturas de opressão contra a mulher ainda são tímidos e tem muito campo para avançar. Eu fiquei pensando enquanto escrevia esse artigo na representatividade feminina aqui na blockchain*, e acho que se alguem tem condições de realizar uma pesquisa que aponte esses dados seria muito bem vindo para conhecermos se aqui no mundo digital também temos um reflexo da sociedade, onde a presença masculino é preponderante.

Gostei da forma como citou a representatividade da mulher por setor. Infelizmente, a mulher embora tenha ganhado muitos direitos ao passar dos anos, ainda sim elas ainda são um elo fraco da sociedade.
