A Heartwarming Christmas Celebration Filled with Family, Tradition, and Generosity

Christmas is coming and this time of the year is very special for a significant portion of the world’s population. For us, it is a time of celebration and joy, where we encourage forgiveness and unity. Beyond the beautiful words, we need to put into action what we say and truly help those in need. For that, small acts of charity according to your possibilities are enough. Donating clothes in good condition, furniture and appliances to those who don’t have them. Participating as a collaborator in volunteer groups that carry out activities for the benefit of society or minorities. Helping assemble basic food kits for low-income families.

Any action is welcome! And adding a little from each person makes all the difference!

In addition, to celebrate the birth of the savior, it is very common to hold year-end parties. The Christmas dinner is a classic and involves an entire preparation beforehand. In our family, we will once again hold this magical event that will include the participation of many relatives. Preparations have already begun, and if you haven’t organized your event yet, I recommend you plan it as soon as possible!

Here, there will be a classic Christmas dinner featuring a roasted bird, which some may call turkey or “chester” (registered trademark), but in a generic sense, it is a large chicken roasted in the oven. There are also the side dishes, for which we selected those most accepted by the family: farofa, baked rice, etc.

For all of this, we still need to think about drinks, and since we have children, there will certainly be various juices, soda, and beer for the adults. The women here prefer sparkling wines, like “champagne” (registered trademark), which are served chilled and pair beautifully with some “snacks” (appetizers).

The decoration is already ready, and it includes a classic artificial Christmas tree with ribbons, balls, and lights. The color of the ornaments couldn’t be more classic either: red. Don’t be surprised, because we’ve had editions with gold and even white! The color determines the palette of the decorations.

At the table, we still haven’t decided how we will set things up and which elements will decorate it, but the culinary dishes will be arranged with the beauty and care that only Christmas can bring. We have some discreet elements such as gnomes, elves, and small ornaments that can be added to the dinner table, but we still don’t have the tablecloth, which is the first item and prevents the entire organization from moving forward until it’s chosen!

It doesn’t mean we’re going to throw a party. On the contrary! We wouldn’t have the financial means to cover the cost of a dinner, so it is necessary to clarify that we always split the expenses, dividing tasks and costs with those who confirmed their presence. This way, each person contributing a little turns the whole event into a special moment that satisfies everyone!

To conclude, we will exchange gifts. Some of them are already placed under the Christmas tree, adding volume and creating excitement among the children. There is no Santa Claus here — the gifts are provided by the people themselves, and this way the tree becomes more complete and radiant!

O Natal está chegando e essa época é muito especial para uma parcela significativa da população mundial. Para nós, uma época de festas e alegria, onde encorajamos o perdão e a união. Além das belas palavras, precisamos colocar em ação aquilo que falamos, e de fato ajudar aos que precisam. Para isso, basta fazer pequenos gestos de caridade de acordo com as suas possibilidades. Doar roupas em bom estado, móveis e eletrodomésticos para aqueles que não tem. Participar como colaborador para os grupos de voluntários que realizam atividades em prol da sociedade ou das minorias. Ajudar na montagem de kit de alimentação básica para famílias de baixa renda.

Qualquer ação é bem vinda! E somar um pouco de cada faz toda a diferença!

Além disso, para comemorar o nascimento do salvador, é muito comum realizar festas de fim de ano. A ceia de natal é um clássico e tem toda uma preparação anterior. Em nossa família, vamos realizar mais uma vez esse evento mágico que contará com a participação de muitos familiares. Os preparativos já iniciaram e se você ainda não organizou seu evento, recomendo que se programa o quanto antes!

Por aqui, haverá uma ceia clássica de natal com direito ao assado de ave, que alguns podem chamar de peru, ou de "cheester" (marca registrada), mas de forma genérica é um frango grande assado em forno. Também existem os acompanhamentos, para os quais selecionamos os que tem maior aceitação junto aos familiares: farofa, arroz de forno, etc...

Para tudo isso ainda precisamos pensar em bebidas, e como temos crianças certamente haverá sucos diversos, refrigerante e cerveja para os adultos. As mulheres daqui tem preferência por espumantes, tipo "champagne" (marca registrada), que são servidos gelados e fazem uma bela combinação com alguns "tira-gostos" (petiscos).

A decoração já está pronta, e envolve uma clássica árvore de natal artificial com laços, bolas, e luzes. A cor dos enfeites não poderia ser mais clássica também: vermelho. Não se espante, pois já tivemos edições com dourado e mesmo o próprio branco! A cor determina a paleta de acompanhamentos.

Na mesa, ainda não resolvemos como faremos e quais componentes estarão decorando, mas os pratos culinários estarão dispostos com uma beleza e cuidado que só o natal faz acontecer. Temos algumas elementos discretos como gnomos, duendes, pequenos enfeites que poderão ser agregados na mesa da ceia, mas ainda não temos a toalha, que é o primeiro item e impede toda a organização enquanto não for resolvida!

Não significa que vamos dar uma festa. Pelo contrário! Não teríamos condições financeiras de arcar com o custo de uma jantar, então é necessário esclarecer que sempre fazemos o rateio, dividindo as tarefas e custos com aqueles que confirmaram presença. Assim, cada um colaborando com um pouco, a soma de tudo vira um momento especial e a contento de todos!

Para finalizar, vamos trocar presentes. Alguns deles já estão depositados sob a árvore de natal, dando volume e criando expectativas nas crianças. Aqui não tem papai-noel, quem providencia os presentes são as próprias pessoas, e assim a árvore vai ficando cada vez mais completa e radiante!
