Protect yourself to protect others

Vaccinations have long been one of the greatest advancements in public health, saving millions of lives by preventing deadly diseases like smallpox, polio, measles, and more recently, COVID-19. Yet, despite decades of evidence proving their safety and effectiveness, vaccines continue to be surrounded by countless conspiracy theories, some so strange that they seem more like science fiction than reality.

One of the craziest theories I've heard is that vaccines are a secret tool for microchip implantation. According to this theory, governments or global elites, often linked to names like Bill Gates, allegedly use vaccines to implant tiny microchips into people's bodies to track and control them. This idea exploded during the COVID-19 pandemic, fueled by fear, misinformation, and mistrust in government institutions. The truth is, microchips small enough to be injected through a needle don't even exist in the way these theorists describe. And even if they did, smartphones already track more personal data than any vaccine ever could.

Another bizarre theory claims that vaccines are designed to cause infertility, particularly in African and developing countries, as part of a supposed population control plan. This theory is not only unfounded but deeply harmful, as it plays into historic injustices and fears around colonialism and medical abuse. Unfortunately, it has led some communities to reject life-saving vaccinations, putting lives at risk during outbreaks.

Although all that is being said about vaccines are not true, I hardly take vaccines because I was traumatized by a vaccine that I was given as a child. When I was little, I was taken to the hospital for immunization. I was given an injection and I couldn't sleep all through the night. My mother said I was burning hot, so the first thing the following morning, she took me back to the hospital.

Only for them to discover that it was the injection that I was given, my hand swelled up and that side of the hand became red. The doctor and nurses were apologizing to my mother. My mother asked, 'I hope my hand won't be damaged,' and the doctors said it will be by divine mercy but they will do their best. However, they have to wait for my hand to burst first because by now it has turned into a very big boil.

One morning, it opened by itself and the wound was very deep. I couldn't raise my hand for one month, and my mother was heartbroken and refused to immunize me again. It was just because of my hand, but our neighbor's child back then became a cripple because of a vaccine. But to everybody's surprise, my hand healed and left no scar. Now, that was when I was a child. Then I had another experience during yellow fever vaccination.

That's why during COVID-19 I didn't bother taking it, and the moment I saw how my mother and grandma reacted to the first and second injections, I just told myself never again. The last vaccines that gave me injection abscess left a scar on my body. Vaccines are good, but we all react differently to them. I won't take any vaccine except if I see how people react to it first before I can take it. I don't take vaccines seriously because of my experience.

In all it still baffles me how people keeps still listening to conspiracy theories even with all awareness and enlightenment.

You are truly right, some people react to injections that cause them abscess, these abscess arises from when the injection needle is placed wrongly on a vein pulse. But with time awareness has stopped people from experiencing such.

Thanks for sharing 😇
