Memory Enhancement Chips are Tools For Mind control

Being a lover of sci-fi movies really shaped my perception about the world of science. Growing up, films that centered on mad scientists creating inventions that cause world changing effects were always my favorite especially if it involves merging humans with cybernetic enhancements to create some sort of cyborg for the greater good of humanity.

Movies with this time of premise are usually packed with action, identity crisis and the protagonist sacrificing a lot to attain victory. These types of movies might use different patterns but they usually tell similar stories even though their endings might be different and if there's one thing I have learnt from being a massive sci-fi enthusiast is to "Never attach an intelligent machinery into a human man no matter how small". The outlined benefits attached to having a super intelligent computer aiding you through all spheres of life, granting you incredible memory capabilities and even providing superhuman like abilities sounds great until these implants continue to evolve, adopt a personality concluding that it is smarter than the host and should be in control and not the other around.
Movies like Upgrade, Ghost in a shell and my all time favorite RoboCop are enough to scar me for life. A brief plot of RoboCop tells the story of a severely injured police officer who ends up with a computer brain to save his life. This eventually turns him into a crime fighting machine restricting one of the few things that makes him human- Free will. The human becomes a puppet to the machine, a prisoner in his own mind constantly fighting for freedom from the very tool created to make life easier. This is one upgrade I never want to be a part of my existence. I would rather forget my mother's birthday than lose myself searching for greatness.

Don't get me wrong, the opportunity to always remember every event, action and information is superb. However as a human being there are a lot of things that are best forgotten because personally, losing them has not only shaped my life but turned me into the person I am today. If I remembered every little thing that has happened to me, I am 100% certain I might lose myself to insanity rendering this chip useless. So again this is going to be a hard pass for me.
The thought of even allowing anyone to work on my brain just for memory stability gives me creeps. There are too many possibilities and a lot of things could go wrong. What if they cause irreversible damage in the process? What if I end up losing all my memories? And worse what if I end up dead?? These are not risks I am willing to take and if I escape these negative outcomes, I am almost quite positive I cannot escape the mind controlling part which seems like an awfully large price to pay for memories if you ask me.

The backlash only seems to get worse from this point. With the rapid growth of technology in this era, the chip implant also stands the risk of being hijacked by an outside experienced hacker with bad intentions to control the minds and manipulate the bodies of hosts. I have maintained the personality of a conformed citizen all my life, I don't want to tarnish my name by becoming a controlled terrorist at this stage of my life for anything.
My answer to this will always be No No No and a capital NO, I will never allow anyone to pry inside my head for any reason (unless it is life threatening). Flawed as I am with a forgetful memory, I am still Myself in full control of everything I do/say and I'd prefer to stay that way for the rest of my life than become a puppet to man's own creation
Thank you all.

That's just it, it's better we work with our brain naturally and let it work as it deem fit, allowing chip into our brain is like breaking our right to privacy and giving room for others to delve into our personal space(mind).
