The year 2025 started like like a blur, I was quite uncertain about I wanted for the new year but one thing read in my head and that was navigating 2025 better than I did the year before it. As usual I went with the flow of making a new year resolution just like I always did but this time I was hellbent on making it work whether the odds were against me or not.
Unfortunately for me being jobless almost erased all my ambitions for the year but thanks to a new found purpose, I was able to bounce into a path that shaped my life. This happens to the discovery of hive from a very close friend and colleague who showed that there is more to the web 3 space than my initial perception which was laid on the foundation of fraud. Thanks to Hive, I picked interest again towards acquiring a digital skill and learning how to operate the world of hive like a pro..
Right from the very fast day of this year, I already made plans for goals I intend to achieve before it is completely exhausted. First thing I needed to do was register for NYSC, spend a memorable three weeks in camp, accept my PPA with good faith and wholeheartedly serve my country for the one year assigned to me (this is not something I set out to achieve but prerequisite to my objectives). Since I did not want to set unrealistic goals for myself this year, I limited my achievements to just two things for year :
- Learning Graphics Designing and
- Saving up enough money to buy a portable laptop by December.
After I found my footing in Igbokoda, I decided to go for a survey with the intentions of finding a good computer center to groom my self with the intended skill. I searched high and low for a little over a month but experienced numerous complications ranging from disagreement with my learning schedule, closing late from the office, my boss reluctance to giving me a more flexing working hours and a reasonable tuition. I was almost at the brink of quitting when a fellow corp member came to visit a neighbor where I lived and I overheard her say she was going for computer training. We were already acquainted so it was not difficult for me to make inquiries about the place from her. Long story short I decided to go there with her and thanks to a positive relationship she already established with her tutor, he agreed to take me under his wings at a very good price. However due to how late I was for the registration, we both settled on me resuming my training early the next year since the year was almost over.
The primary reason I wanted a laptop was because it will really serve as a motivation to focused on the skill I was learning and even offer an added leverage to practice at home whenever I am free but as it seems I will not be able to achieve that dream this year thanks to some necessary expenses popping up anytime I try to save up. As it stands right now I won't be able to achieve neither of my goals for this year but in books I don't see this as a failure because I have already made preparations for them next year. Not getting them both doesn't spell doon for me but challenges which I must conquer come 2026. So until then I'll just have to keep pushing forward while also reminding myself that this year wasn't a failure but a reminder to work harder and smarter to grab the future I seek.
