Good day, amazing people of the Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community topic of whistleblowing.
A whistleblower is someone who reports to the authorities once they notice strange moves around them. If I must say, there should be a limit because of their life. It can be dangerous, more especially if the people you report get to know you were the one that reported them. In as much as it is a noble act, I will not advise anyone living in my country to be a whistleblower because they are endangering their life.

Whistleblowing is a noble act towards humanity. I will not lie; I love whoever takes that bold step to be a whistleblower. I admire them so much because it is not easy for one to lay down their life trying to protect people's lives and their property. No matter how noble a whistleblower can be, there are dangers that await them; there is a possibility that he or she may end up losing his or her own life if things don’t go as planned.
This is one work that I will never do. No matter the amount of money you offer me, I will decline. I have seen a situation where a whistleblower was killed in his own pool of blood. That is when I took that big decision that I will always mind my business.
I will be sharing a true-life story of how my aunt became a widow.
My aunt's husband was working in a big firm as an accountant. One fateful day he stumbled upon a document of how the manager and head of department were embezzling funds. The evidence was legit: the forged documents and fake transaction history.
My uncle was so afraid he had to trust my aunt and tell her about the new development in their workplace. My aunt only advised him to be careful and mind his business, but he reached out to his lawyer friend, who promised to help him. When the manager and the head of department found out that my uncle was investigating how they had been embezzling the company money, he started receiving threats from his workplace. My aunt cried and begged my uncle to back off, but he refused.

One faithful day as he was going to work, he was killed by unknown people, but when investigations were going on after his death, it happened that it was the manager and head of department that silent him that was how my aunt became a widow because the husband was playing the noblesilenced him. That role of a whistleblower.
From this experience I can never be a whistleblower because at the end I may lose my life. Minding my business is the best thing for me in a country like mine where safety is not guaranteed. As long as my country is corrupt, I will always be silent.
This is my entry on the ongoing weekly prompt #hivelearners #hl-w202e3 topic whisper blowing.

That's a painful and unfortunate situation. Whistle blowing in a country like ours is never a simple responsibility to take. The institutions that should protect such people fail to even. It's sad.
