My Sources of Happiness.

Source

There is a common saying that happiness is free. While a lot of people would agree with this, some would choose say that it's infact not true.

When most people talk about the true meaning of happiness, they might be referring to how they feel in the present moment or to a more general sense of how they feel about life overall. Sometimes in our lives we find ourselves in some challenging situations, we look at the lives of others which are apparently perfect and then we tag ourselves unfortunate. Some people might even wonder if they were ever destined for happiness.

Happiness is something that a lot of people seek. But the truth is, we can never truly be happy if we don't choose to have the right mindset regarding it because what defines happiness can vary from one person to the next.

Happiness is often described as involving positive emotions and satisfaction in life.
But in my very own opinion, there's a lot more to being happy.

With what I see happiness as, I guess I can call myself a happy person.
I know, my life is not perfect and has it's ups and downs but what actually makes one a happy person is his or her ability maintain have an underlying sense of optimism that things will get better when faced with challenges.

Of course, I can feel a whole range of emotions like loneliness, sadness, frustration, anger and the likes. But I'd always deal with the situation and feel happiness again. That's what makes me feel I'm truly happy.

I wouldn't be true to myself if I said money and other material things doesn't make me happy. I'm human so they do. However, like I said before, there's a whole lot more to true happiness and I tend to find them by choosing to embrace some certain mindsets.

Where do I find happiness?

In my Family
You can always be sure to find happiness in being around the people who love you and are always ready to support you no matter what. There truly could be no greater happiness anyone could feel when he or she feels the true essence of having a family.

The happiness I feel when I'm with friends is different from what I feel when my parents and siblings are around me.
I always feel a whole different enthusiasm when my family supports me with my endeavors. It bring me a lot of Joy and makes me want to achieve greater accomplishments to make them proud.
By spending quality time with my family and always being grateful for them, I feel a lot of happiness.

In Contentment
There's absolutely no way you can be happy with yourself and even for others when you aren't contented with what you have.
I've learnt to always appreciate what I have at all times and the happiness I derive from this is truly unmatched.
When you can't appreciate the little you have, you certainly can't be happy for others when they make great achievements because you are overwhelmed by envy which of course, can't get you anywhere.
Whenever my friends make big achievements, I always feel a lot of happiness because I appreciate what I have and I know that as long as I'm still granted the gift of life, I can achieve even better.

In conclusion, happiness is indeed free. It just depends on how you want to see it.
If you seek true peace of mind, you must learn to find happiness in not just material things but also within yourself.

Very correct... Being happy is actually easy, but keeping to it might be a bit difficult. But then, its we humans that love to complicate things for ourselves.

Thank you for sharing this with us.

Yes I totally agree! We humans often search for happiness in the wrong places.
