When Those in Power Take Advantage of the Vulnerable
When it comes to abuse of power, it is something that is very common in my country. Most people in high positions often abuse their power. Not everyone is opportune to experience it, but for those who do, it is something they find horrible.
On my list of people who often abuse their power are people who hold high positions in companies or government jobs.
In this case, it is often females who face the problem. When they go out to search for jobs, they are granted interviews, only for the boss there to tell them that he will have to sleep with them before they can get the job. This is just so disheartening, knowing that you cannot get a job with your qualifications unless someone sleeps with you.
A friend of mine has a passion for modelling, and while we were in school, she decided to pursue it. However, she did not even last up to two months before giving up on it, and she has a lot to tell.

When I asked her, she told me that almost all the people she went to meet for modelling gigs wanted to sleep with her before they could give her a gig. She was not ready to do that because once she started, there would be no going back, and in the end, she might end up losing more than she gained.
I already know about this pandemic, and it makes me wonder how our females are coping in their workplaces.
Another group of people who abuse their power are lecturers in universities. One incident that recently happened involved my course adviser when I was in school.
I have known that man to be unserious because he is not active, and I wonder how he was able to retain his role as course adviser when he does not do his job well.
It was not until this year that he was arrested by the police. The story behind it was that he had been disturbing a particular student and told her to have sex with him or else he was going to fail her.
The girl told her people, and they set a trap for him, which he fell into. He asked her to meet him at a hotel, and the girl agreed. On that day, they met up, but unbeknownst to him, the girl came with her family and the police. That was how he was arrested and dragged away.
I was not surprised when the news broke out, I knew he was non challant and don't care about the student, but I didn't know that he was running the girls student package too, but as it was mentioned, I believed he is capable of such....
May God just keep protecting our women, ladies, and children because it is just crazy out there.
