Tomorrow may be too late, care for your parent while they are still alive
It hurt when i see children abandon their parent and spend lavishly on outsiders, some prefer impressing the world than taking good care of their parent....
Have they forgotten the past? or they are just callous.....
The day you were given birth to, both your father and mother rejoice, it is the joy of all parent to have a new born baby and at that moment, you were vulnerable but they made sure to protect you with all they have got....
There are days of nothing but they would never let you sleep hungry, many debt they are into just to make sure you do not lack, they made sure to feed you good and cater for all your needs....
They watch you grow, send you to school to give you a bright future and not only do they share in your joy, they also share in your pains, when you get injured, you are only physically hurt but they go through emotional pains for you, no one likes to see their loved ones hurt....
They are your best supporter! either you are right or wrong, they would never let the world harm you because you are their priceless gem... In the world full of deceit and betrayal, your parent proved to be the only one you can trust 100 percent never to betray you...
They toil the earth and sacrifice a lot to get you to where you are today, the least you can do is to show you appreciate their true love....They would never ask you to pay them back but as a filial child you should love them as much as they love you...
Dearie remember the good old times, remember those years you only want to be around your parent, those moment you don't want them to leave only you at home, those moment you don't want strangers to carry you, moment they took you out to get you your best clothes and food.....
You needed them while you were growing up and they didn't fail you...
Life is indeed very short, the two energetic souls who took good care of you when you were a baby needs your love and support now! Do not disappoint them by choosing others over them..
It is never too late to take care of them if you have derailed as long as they are still alive, make those two souls happy for without them you won't be where you are today... Let them be proud of being the one that brought you to this world....
It breaks my heart every single day knowing am losing my parent to old age, i just wish they can live with me forever but life must do its thing and now my wish is to be able to make them very happy till their last breathe....
Time is ticking, don't wait until you have all the money in the whole world before you decide to care for them because it may be too late... Do what you can now...

This is a really thoughtful write up daddy, you have said it all. Although some parents did miss the line while trying to take care of their children but then we should just forgive them because they never really thought before they did those things and even if they did, they are just humans after all.
I don't know how well I'm taking care of my parents but then I will try to do better, although I have to find a way to love myself first before I can love others freely and now that I'm thinking about it, I think I have a lot of work to do on myself because I realize that I'm like this because of some things I've been through.
I don't know how to care well for my parents, it's really just not easy for me at all, not that I don't care but when I see how others take care of their parents I'm not doing even quarter of that but I will Learn, it's learn able.
i think you are still in the stage of receiving your father and mother's love, don't be too hard on yourself, trust me when it is time they really need your help and love, you would figure it out easily❣️

The sad reality is, most of us don't value the gems (parents) when they're alive. We understand how valuable they were when they are no more and that's the saddest reality in my sense.
so true and many need to change that mindset, why miss them when they are gone when they didn't take care of them when they are still alive and with them, this is the time to do the needful not when they are gone and i hope many people can have the mindset of loving them while they are still alive... we only have this life time with them...

I still wonder why some children find it good to ignore their parents when they are on their own and making it. Many have forgotten the pains and sufferings they went into just to make them who they are.
Had it been my mom is still alive, she would definitely enjoy her reward from us but it doesn't stop me from doing the little I can now for my Dad. Still praying to God to take me to a higher place to care for him even before he leaves this earth.

I don't seem to understand people who abandon their parents and leave them to suffer. I have seen and heard a lot of stories like that in my country and it's truly heartbreaking, it sometimes feels like the child was cursed by someone and forced to abandon their parents. The worst thing about all these is that the same child that abandoned their parents when they were alive will hold an elaborate burial ceremony when they are dead
it is rampant, cases like that are everywhere, exactly i wonder the reason for the elaborate burial when you didnt take care of the person when still alive

I still try to understand why some children will decide to treat their parents with no love.
I have a neighbor who always insults his mum, he talks so bad to her that I feel like calling the police on him sometimes but it's a family issue and I shouldn't interfere.
I know that I've not gotten to point to make my parents so satisfied but I'm sure trying my best and the more I grow, the more I shower them with more love. Although parents can be annoying in a way but I think they do all that fir our safety and because they love us. How I wish everyone thinks the way you think in this aspect dear...

It hurts to see parents go through a lot of struggles and later be abandoned by such a child. It is a terrible thing that even God is not pleased with because one of the ten commandments was dedicated to our parents.

I don't know about others oo but my parents come first now that I'm still single especially my mom I too love that woman.
I totally understand that we owe them our appreciation, but o have this close friends who the dad didn't care for her and her sister, all the suffer was with their mom and now there are grown up they find it hard to even visit him, they don't even talk in this case what can someone do?
Should we take care of our parents who neglected us when we need them the more or we too should neglect them.
hmmm that is a serious case, well an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind and remember no matter how your blood treat you bad, they are still your blood.... if they neglect us, we can still be there for them in their worst moment....

they got lost in the frenzy and lovey dovey they are playing with friends and girlfriends, they forgot they wont have had that chance if their parent didn't take care of them, i think female child do take care of their parent better than male child

I’m glad you chose this topic. Is it weird that I’m really angry right now? Your article made me think about how stupid some people are.
It also hurts me when I see people abandon their parents and spend money stupidly on outsiders. A friend of mine (we live in the same street) made it big. His parents are still alive. A few years back, this guy was so broke. Broke asf. He and his parents stayed together in a rented house. He also has siblings. Earlier this year, this guy made it big.
He built a house, bought a car, iPhone and all. The most annoying part is that his parents and siblings still live in that same shabby house. And to worsen the case, he bought a car for his girlfriend on her birthday. Like wtf!!!! What happened to family first? If you were in a coma, who would be by your side all day crying and praying you get better? Your mom!!!!!!!
One of my biggest motivations to make it in life “My parents” I can’t just wait to make it big and pay them in multiple fold for all they have done for me.

that is the problem with 80 percent of guys out there, once they make it in life, they care less about their parent, they prefer spending the money on their girlfriends or wife, but the ladies are not like that, trust me most girls and women always put their parent first....
