It is easier to make friends too, with a wide range of millions of people using social media, it is easy to meet people whose mindset and interests align with our own but with these perks come disadvantages too.
These are some of the things we need to look out for in this digital age
Fake people are online and offline but it is very easy for people to fake who they are online... Years ago when I used to chat on the 2go app, I met this girl in a group chat and we added each other as friends, that same day we chatted a lot and she was so friendly to the extent I started growing fond of her so fast.
Fortunately, she was not patient enough to nurse her client, and three days later, she billed me, that was when I understood the true intention behind her lovey-dovey, and rather than tell her I was broke, I asked her if it sounded well to start asking someone you barely know for money and she was like she needed it, I told her I don't have and she started acting weird, a few hours later, I realized she has blocked me.

This means her intention was to milk me, as long as I am giving her money, she will continue acting so friendly, that is her own business online and a lot of guys must have fallen for that.
It is easy to be fooled online because it is what they tell you that you know, so do not easily believe what people say online and also it is not all you see online that is true.
This is important if we want to be safe because we don't know who is after us, recently an influencer was kidnapped and the kidnappers forced him to reveal his phone password and pin and looted away more than 300,000 Dollars from his wallet.
This guy has a trading group where he drops calls for people and often he will announce how much he made from trade, this is probably how those who kidnapped him got to know he is rich and the rest was history.
I believe it was an insider job, but he revealed what he was not supposed to... Our worth should be kept private, and the good life we are enjoying should be kept private too because we do not know who is watching.

It is not everyone we know online that we must meet, we have cannibals, ritualists, and so many evil people online but you never can tel the kind of person they are through chat, it is when you visit them that you realize you have done the worst mistake of your life.
A lady met a guy on Facebook and after months of chatting with each other, the guy told her to visit him which she obliged since they have known each other for a while and she sees that as a way to make their bond stronger.
Unfortunately for her, she went there but never returned home because the guy killed her, she told her friend before embarking on that perilous journey and after they didn't hear from her for two days, they reported at the police station and her phone was tracked to the guy's house but they were late because the deed has been done and all they saw part of her body in the guy's apartment... People can be so evil.
Most of the things I do now is online, my bosses online, friends online, if it were possible to eat and bath online, I would have moved my apartment online too lol, The online world is a blessing to us but we must be careful.
