The Notorious one million boys

During the covid19, apart from this terrible disease, there was another thing people feared in my country, and this was being evaded by a group of boys who called themselves the one million boys.

Most of us believed that the group was created during the corona virus time because of the hunger in the land, the covid stopped people from going out to earn money to survive so probably that was what led the youth to take to arms and start hurting and stealing from innocent citizens so they can survive but that was not true.

The group existed way back before COVID, and it originated from Ajegunle, one of the deadliest places to live in Nigeria, because the place is filled up to the brim with thugs... The One Million Boys was created to fight against crimes, but its goals shifted from stopping crimes to being the perpetrators of the crimes.

They were ruthless and fearless, they often send a message to their victims before attacking them and yet still nothing is being done, they steal, rape and do the unthinkable to their victims, sooner their names started to spread across different places in Nigeria...

Of course, it is not possible for them to exist everywhere. The thing is, other criminals started to use their name to scare their victims; they were never one million.

Only some areas were affected because I never heard about them until the coronavirus period, which was when they became notorious.

I heard many cases of how they remove their victims' eyes, SA the opposite gender, and steal money from people in the night, and it became worse when they started raiding in the day too... You will just be walking on the street, and the next moment you see people running helter-skelter shouting that the one million boys are coming...

They raid in big numbers so no one can stop them, they will collect phones and money from anyone they meet on the road, they also burgled shops and steal clothes and other valuables, they were becoming a terror in the society!

They messed up the balance in the world where the good people have the day and the evil ones do their evil deed in the night; they want to dominate both the day and the night, and it was no longer a thing that could be overlooked.

Everyone was scared. What if they attack my home and family tomorrow? So many ifs! When it becomes a situation of life and death, even a coward will fight!

Inside was not safe for fear of them visiting your home, outside was not safe either, but better. I would rather we meet outside with others than meet only me and my family inside where numbers are to their advantage...

People were angry, everyone became vigilante in their neighbourhood, no sleep for the wicked and those who want to catch the wicked, every night we burn tyres in my area till the next day awaiting the one million boys, but they never appeared...

In some areas that they showed up, some of them were caught and no mercy was shown, they were brutally beaten to death with stones, stick and other dangerous weapon you can think of, I watched a video where 4 boys were burnt to death after they have been stoned with blocks, mehn if you haven't been a victim of those boys, you would pitied them as they were brutally killed but for those who have encountered them, no mercy or pity.

Even the police announced that no one should bring any of them to the police station again, as it is already filled up, which means kill them all! Some of them, their hands tied along with heavy blocks and were thrown into the sea.

As long as the good ones are still more than the evil ones, the world will continue to exist.. The others saw how their fellow was being brutally killed, they feared for their life and withdrew back to the hell they came from, and that was how they were stopped... Never heard of one million boys again since then.

Now that the economy is crumbling, food is expensive, water is expensive, and to rent a house is very expensive, I hope the one million boys won't surface again to start hurting innocent citizens when they ought to direct their anger to those ruling the country.

As usual, if they come out again, people won't just watch... We will be ready!
