I feel sad when I hear about people dying from different serious ailments.

Some people live reckless lives, so we can say they are reaping the consequences of their lifestyle. But what about those people who take care of their health, live good and decent lives, yet somehow life happens to them and they are diagnosed with an ailment that is not curable?
Back in the olden days, we did not hear as much about some of the health problems we hear about today. Nowadays, it seems like every day we hear stories about young people being admitted to the hospital because of one health problem or another, sometimes involving damage to vital organs.
Who is to be blamed? The producers or the consumers?
The way some young people consume energy drinks is alarming. Some will even say they cannot do without drinking them twice a day. But aside from drinks, what about the things we use every day, like non-stick pots, microwaving food in plastic containers, and so on? We have heard concerns about some of these things, but what can we really do? We are no longer living in the olden days, and modern life comes with modern challenges.
One thing I would love to bring back, though, is the way of life of the past.
Those were the days when people cared more about food, family, and a happy home than aesthetics and pleasing others.
Our forefathers did not need all the money in the world to be happy. Home really felt like home. There was sickness, of course, but it sometimes feels like the health challenges we face today are becoming more complicated. Our forefathers also lived long lives.
My grandmother died this year at the age of 117. Some of her sisters are still alive and are above 100.
So, it would be nice if we could bring back some of the healthier aspects of the old way of life. People are already going back to using steel and clay pots, which were commonly used back then. There were no energy drinks, there was less dependence on processed products, there was no phone distraction, and people interacted and played physically.

Maybe that is how we are supposed to live: eating better, moving more, spending time with people, and making our homes places where we can actually enjoy life.
The sedentary lifestyle is ruining our health. It is making many people gain unhealthy amounts of weight, yet some of us do not even realize the danger until it becomes a serious problem.
High blood pressure is also a growing concern. People are constantly thinking and worrying, and sometimes it is not even about basic needs anymore. They dream about big cars, private jets, and maintaining a certain level of wealth. Ironically, even people who already have these things can live with the fear of losing their position.
Maybe we need to slow down.
Maybe we need to stop chasing everything and start paying more attention to our health, our families, our food, and our happiness.
We cannot completely return to the olden days, but we can bring back the good parts of that lifestyle.
Because at the end of the day, what is the point of having everything you want if you do not have your health to enjoy it?
We really need to find our way back to a simpler way of living.
