Our decisions can either make or mar us

Some of the great people in life have once been in a position to make a big decision in life and it is what they decide that made them great, it is the same for those who failed, we are the product of our choices and this is why we must ponder on the matter before we make that decision.

I always think about the negative aspect of things before making decisions or taking big risks. My loved ones tell me to be positive and stop being negative all the time, but the negative part of things can't be avoided, and it is better to think about it now; we do not have to wait until it happens and start looking for a solution... Prevention is better than a cure... If it will cost more than the gains, it is better to avoid it than run into a loss that we will find it so difficult to get over.

Recently, I was in a situation that required me to make a decision... So what happened is that I was not comfortable in my apartment due to the ventilation, poor network, and water leakage I was facing, aside from that, I needed a bigger apartment, so I contacted my agent to get me a mini flat but the price was huge, The total package of getting a mini flat around my current area is 2.5 million above, I was still deliberating If I should rent it but it keeps popping up in my mind that it is too much, I did not come to this world to pay landlord and may we not use all our money to pay rent, paying 2m for rent yearly, where is the room for progress.

An idea crossed my mind, instead of renting an apartment here, isn't it better to change location and seek for house in a place where rent is less costly? I found this a good idea and I set to plan immediately.

I found a good house in an estate in another area, a bit far from my current location. It is an hour journey without traffic. The rent is 700k yearly, and the Total package is 1.2m... I opted for this and paid, and will be moving in by the end of the month.

It was the best decision for me. If I had decided to keep staying in my current area and start paying 2m annual rent, there are still other bills to be paid, water, electricity would in the end, result in like 2.5m. Imagine paying this and you lost your source of income, it will be a story of from grace to grass, because the money meant to be invested has been poured into rent and other bills.

My decision to move to a different area will affect me a bit because I still have one year to spend in school, but I do not mind the stress if it saves me money. As long as the benefits are more, I am good!
