Life hacks are simple tricks or methods that help us do things faster, easier, or better in our everyday lives.

There are many life hacks I have adopted that make life easier for me and also help me avoid falling victim to human greed and unfaithfulness.
There was a time I preferred buying clothes from one particular vendor because I felt being a loyal customer would make her reduce prices for me, but I was wrong.
Instead, she increased her prices because she knew I only bought from her and didn’t bother checking other vendors selling the same items.
One day, I wanted to buy a shirt from her, and she priced it at ₦16,000. I found the price outrageous, so I didn’t buy it. I even lost interest in the shirt… until one day at the market, I saw the same shirt for ₦6,000.
At that moment, I knew I had made the right decision not to buy from her. That was the last time I purchased anything from that vendor.
She taught me a valuable lesson, which is to always compare prices instead of sticking to one vendor because the truth is, humans will remain humans.
That vendor you think you are being loyal to might exploit you the moment they realize you depend only on them.

Another life hack that has been saving me a lot of money is going to the main market instead of depending on street retailers.
The way some people add all their life problems to the price of what they sell is alarming.
They can buy something for ₦5,000 in the main market and sell it for ₦25,000—almost 5x profit. That’s too much!
I recently bought a Badefu 8-in-1 blender for ₦47,000 at Alaba International Market. Later, while scrolling through TikTok and checking reviews, I saw someone selling the same blender for ₦85,000.
And I had to ask myself, isn’t that profit too much for just one item?
When I got to the market, I also saw Kenstar (the same brand I used before, though the coil got spoiled). When I asked for the price, the seller said ₦20,000.
Meanwhile, I remember buying that same Kenstar blender for ₦43,000 in Shomolu two years ago. Normally, with how prices increase in Nigeria, it should be more expensive now, not cheaper.
That was when it really clicked for me.
Now, anytime I want to buy anything expensive, I go straight to the main market:
For electronics - Alaba International Market.
For clothes - Balogun Market.
I have also heard about TradeFair market, though I haven’t been there yet, but I plan to go soon.
At the end of the day, if you are not careful, people will keep using your head.
