Is phone the problem or the internet

The internet is so toxic, a lot of adult-rated videos and content are being promoted now, some people no longer see social media as a place to have fun, they see it as a source of income, and they will do what it takes to get a share of the goody bags.

Even though it can be monetized, does it mean people need to make explicit content? Oh well, they dish out what most people want to see, many people criticize this content, but still, content like that ends up having the highest likes and views, who are the viewers and likers!

It has gotten so bad that you can't scroll for 1 minute on the likes of Facebook, TikTok, and other social media without seeing adult content, and they are influencing everyone in a bad way.

There are some things people do not know about but were able to learn from social media. I am a ghost viewer on most of the social apps. I can watch TikTok videos all day and read comments under the videos, but you will not see me posting content or dropping a video there....

It amuses me when I see adult commenting on some adult rated content that they don't know this and others will tell them what it is, it is ok to learn some of this things as an adult but how do we make sure our kids don't see this kind of contents and comment because they will also want to try out what they see and it will affect them negatively.

In my opinion, A kid can have a phone because the phone is not the main problem, you can give your child a phone because you always want to keep in touch with him or her when they are outside or far away from you, you can also help them to download some games on it as it is a way to make them have fun.

The issue arise when you give them access to the internet and Data, it is easy to locate porn videos on the internet nowadays, infact you will meet other social media users guiding you on how to get the best site to watch those spicy videos, you won't know if your kids start to watch that and kids are very curious, when they watch something, they will also want to practice it, they are humans with feelings too and their hormones will lead them into doing the wrong things with the wrong person...

We have had cases where siblings or family members sleep with each other, and the things they see could be what lures them into committing such an abomination. So I will refrain my kids from using a phone with internet until they are of age, which is probably during their teenage and even though that comes with a lot of risk too, because they are still vulnerable, but depriving them of it can even make them rebel... They can still access it from their friend's phone in school... so it is better to keep them close and not be too strict, so they won't start hiding things.
