Happy new year - No resolution
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
It has been a long journey, but we made it!
2025 is an unforgettable year, and I am grateful for the good and the bad things. I rejoice for the good while I learnt lessons from the bad occurrence
We are now in 2026, may it favour us... It is our year to claim all that is ours!
Being the first day of the day, we wanted to celebrate it uniquely, and we choose shoprite as the location...
Unfortunately, we met the place empty, all the goods are gone, infact some places have been cleared, and we only saw a few traders selling toys, disappointment is what we felt cos we planned to spend our entire day exploring different things there.
While roaming around, we decided to take some pictures, cos we can't just come and go like that.
We saw some tax stickers pasted in front of some shops, so it is probably the tax issue that made them shut down, I am not so sure though... Now that the tax ish has been extended to the citizens, may God help us
The more we grow, the wiser we become. I have often made new year resolution in the past, but this time, I won't be making any; I will just let things play out.
Nothing changes; it is just another day, and I make every day count in my life.
I do not need to wait for a new year to start taking care of myself, nor do I need to wait for 2026 before I cut a toxic person away from my life...
Our actions in the present determine our tomorrow, so rather than wait till a new year to double your hustle, start today! If there is anyone you feel is delaying your progress, an ungrateful leecher monitoring your life, today is the right time to block them off. The worst kind of person to have as a friend is someone who smiles at you but whose heart is so dark that they won't think twice before spoiling you in your absence.
There is a higher chance of not doing those things we said we would do or doing things we promise not to do, cos that is when the temptations and other factors arise that make us break our resolution. So why can't we just let things play out on their own? We should continue to work hard and hope for the best in this new year.
Old friends are golden, and if they are good to us and didn't do anything bad, we don't need to change them... My few friends are loyal to me, and I am loyal to them, but if an opportunity arises to make new friends, I will let things play out, no forcing friendships and no cutting off unnecessarily.
I will live freely with my family without the pressure of forcing goals... what will be wil be.

I saw something on TikTok about the Shoprite in Ibadan being empty sometime last year too, but I didn't know it was going to affect the Shoprite in all the states... oh well, the economy is hard, more competitors sell cheaper than shoprite and another ish is the government, so maybe it is the end of Shoprite...

They ruin the fun; we ought to return home late, but we didn't even spend upto an hour there, but yeah, the pictures made the day lol

We indeed don't need to wait for new year's to take action and decide to change things for the better. With the way things are moving so fast and how unpredictable everything is, I'm also leaning into going with whatever comes and doing my best in the process as opposed to getting attached to plans/goals that bring unnecessary pressure.
