Recently, I watched a video where a lion jumped over a fence and attacked 3 people on the street. The owner ran after it to avoid death, and gladly, no one died.
When are some people going to learn that wild animals are not meant to be kept as pets, nor are they meant to be kept in the zoo for entertainment, knowledge, or whatever reason they have for doing that.
Most people tend to forget we are also animals, and the only thing that differentiates and makes us superior to all other animals is our advanced brain.
They eat, drink, mate, reproduce, and also care for their young ones the same way we do, the only thing they lack is our advanced brain, which helps us to produce weapons and other things that make our race undefeatable... Now imagine a human being put in a cage by a gorilla so that other gorillas can watch it.
They claim that they have a higher chance of living longer when captured and caged by humans, and my question is, as humans, are we going to prefer being caged by other animals, provided they give us food and water, or would we prefer to spend our life with our family amidst the threat we would face from other predators.
Humans are the villains in the animal kingdom; we do not respect nature, and we are ready to destroy whatever is on our path to achieve our aim. Whenever we want to take over a new place, we burn bushes and kill the wild animals around there, which makes the other wild animals leave that region to seek greener pastures in the thicker forest far away from humans, but this doesn't mean that someday, humans won't go there too.
I believe one of the common reasons for having a zoo is to teach people about animals and to show the animals to people who have only seen them on television, even though the reason behind it is good for humans, but it is unfair to the wild animals and it is not different to when humans are enslaved and forced to work unwillingly.
The most annoying reason is when they claim they are trying to protect them from going extinct, but here in Nigeria. The wild animals in the zoo are suffering from malnutrition. Some years ago, there was news about two lions caged in a zoo in Nigeria who were dying due to not having enough to eat... In the end, they were released back into the wild to fend for themselves, but will they survive as they were already too weak to hunt!.
Why keep something if you can't feed it well? Is it not better to let it be in its natural habitat, where it can fend for itself and become stronger?

There is an episode in one of my favourite cartoon series Futurama where every other members of the primate family escape earth, create their own world on another planet and humans are made their animals for entertainment.
Honestly speaking that was a clear representation of how this animals feel. No creature deserves to be a tool of amusement, allow them live in their natural habitat
Thank you for this
Not at all, but nothing is going to change, they won't stop the act.
If I was a movie director, this is a brilliant TV show idea lol. But truthfully, we humans, people like amusement, especially with animals and all that. We like to cage them, collect money from people to watch them lol.
I left a WhatsApp message for lol.
Oh I have not been on WhatsApp for days, I will message you on discord now.
That’s sad
I wished the owner waited nah. The owner will know that lions are wild and no matter how much you pet them, they will still be dangerous
This goes to humans too. If you once had a trait, you will continue to have such trait no matter how much you hide it
Humans are the best creatures on earth, but they are also the most destructive ones.
It happens only for a few species, where most of the creatures are caught to make money.
Very interesting point. I've always viewed zoos as a bit of an oddity with modern invention. I'd rather prefer to view them from a far at the forest in their natural habitats than at zoos where the constraints give a wrong feel to the whole place altogether. Humans can be cruel creatures too.
