A Prisoner of the Digital World
I am not going to lie, I am now a prisoner of my phone... My whole life resides in my mobile phone, it is not my fault... It is just the direction life pointed me toward for a good life...
I am also not going to lie about the reason being a good life 😋, I actually just love being on my phone lol because since the moment I started using a phone in 2011, I have been like this! The first thing I noticed was how much I loved chatting, especially on the 2go platform. I could chat all day and even sleep late at night just to chat with strangers who turned into friends. Honestly, I still miss those days... because they were the days of genuine friendship. No money, opportunities, or work-related chats, we were chatting because we loved it...
I had my guys that we raided the group chat together, having fun, and then we had our private chats too where we discussed random things. I also had my girls that we chatted with privately, and trust me, it was just so much fun. I know I can never have such days in my life again...
It did not involve making a living until 2017. That was when everything changed...
Before 2017, I loved using my phone and I found it hard to stay away from it for a whole day, but after 2017, it was no longer about fun but survival. My work shifted from offline to online. Life was easier, work was less stressful, and all I had to do was use my fingers and stress my brain, unlike when I worked offline, where I needed to use my legs, talk all day with my mouth, and whatnot. So, having all my activities on my phone just made things so easy for me...
So right now, a day without my phone is something I can do, but it will come with losses, so I will not do it...
But when we talk about the number of hours I can spend without my phone, 24 hours make a day and we spend like 8 hours sleeping already, so that is like 16 hours left. I definitely cannot spend those 16 hours away from my phone because I have to earn money...
I can do without listening to music, playing games, watching movies, or even chatting with friends. In fact, chatting bores me nowadays. It is no longer a priority. The main reason why staying away from my phone is difficult is because of earning money. No phone means no money, and I have not gotten to the stage where I can make money without doing anything...
Hopefully, I will reach that stage someday, where I can sleep and play and make money work for me instead of me working for money...
